Version 1.81 is re-upload of 1.8, which was corrupted when I uploaded it. Those who downloaded the patch, do NOT need to redownload this version.

NOTICE! there's a patch for all of you who already have the version 1.0, 1.2 or 1.3.
It is available here: http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=43095

Introduced in mid 1963, Isuzu Bellett PR20 1500 sedans were soon seen racing in events across Japan. The following year in april saw PR90 1600GT introduced as first ever japanese mass produced car that had GT moniker. As the factory originally built the GT as for racing, it naturally showed up quickly in many national and club events often taking places in capacity classes and the occasional win against RT40 Coronas and 410/411 Bluebirds. In autumn of 1964, cheaper, 1500cc GT was launched, but it never reached the popularity of 1600GT and so was dropped from models after 1967.

However, with the introduction of the Toyota RT55 1600DOHC Corona and the new Nissan 510 Bluebird, the PR90 1600GT was facing an uphill battle. This improved with the introduction of the 1600 DOHC Bellett GTR in 1969. Belletts started achieving podium places and outright positions.

In version 1.8 Following changes were made:
* 1970 GT-R:
- This new version added with new physics representing the cars in private team track racing tune.
- 3 skins replicating 1969 1000 Lakes Rally entries ran by Finnish importer.

In version 1.3 Following fixes and modifications were made:
* 1800GT:
- fixed wrong gearbox file and wrong default gear ratios.

In version 1.2 Following fixes and modifications were made:
* Corrections to readme and credits.
* 1500GT:
- short 4 speed
- no-individual gear ratio selections,
- weight 845kg,
- fuel consumption recalculated
- #151 skin sounds fixed.
* 1970 Works GT-R:
- International Championship Venues 2014 modifications added (more gear ratios, etc.)
- suspension tweaked
- brand new default setup made.

Isuzu Bellett GT & GTR
version 1.8

The Isuzu works tyre tester, Tachio Yonemura, was a regular steerer of the “Big Ben Bellett” - a works supported racing GTR. The car was interesting in that it was built out of an earlier body shell, as a new “GTR” could not be spared from the production line. This can be seen from the from old style front indicators. Fitted with parts from the R6, wide tyres and flared guards, it claimed class placings and podiums and is represented in this mod as car 43 and can be seen in the video below.

In 1973, with Jackie Stewart racing in the Japanese GP – Ford sent two works Group 2 Capris to race the Fuji Tourist Trophy. Driven by Mass, Hezemans, Glemsser and Moffat. One of the capris ended up winning against the RX3s, Skylines and Celica Gts – but three belletts also raced - cars 21, 22 and 23 included in this mod. Much like the Big Ben Bellett, all three have lights removed, wide rims shod with slick tyres and flared guards.

The Bellett, although not well known, was also exported and raced in Europe, the UK, Australia as well as in North America. It the UK a lone PR90GT was raced by John Sprinzle, Neville Tricket (of Mini Sprint fame) and famously tested by Bruce McLaren. This car is represented by the PR90 1600GT number 78 as it appeared at Crystal Palace in 1966.

In Finland, Belletts import program followed soon after Datsun and Toyota started japanese car invasion in 1964. Finnish importer was keen showing the strong points of the Isuzu and It comes as no suprise that Rallying was the way to do it. From 1965, Belletts were regulars in national rallies and driven by upcoming stars they scored respective results. In 1000 Lakes Rally 1966 (which was part of the european rally championships before the world rally championships started in 1973), The international press was suprised by Bellett 1500 Sedan reaching 10th in Overal results. After that, Until 1969, Importer ran sedan cars, which scored two 5th overal results (1967 and 1968) driven by Pertti "Konsta" Karha. For 1969, importer got the first 1600GTs prepared, still with OHV engines. Even though the opposition had grown much harder and powerful, "Konsta" drove the Bellett GT to 6th in overal results. As soon as the Isuzu had GTR with DOHC 1600cc homologation started, Rally team ordered all GTR additions as parts for three cars from factory and they were locally installed in GT chassis. The GTR (or DOHC Belletts as they were known here) and the results were instantly seen in national Rally Championships in beginning of 1970 by scoring top 5 results constantly. In 1000 Lakes Rally 1970, even though the team had some difficuties, the GTR cars scored 7th and 13th positions.

Such upcoming Flying Finns as Pentti Airikkala and Timo Salonen drove successfully Belletts in national rallies during their early career. As many as 18 GTs were imported to Finland between 1969 and 1973. More suprisingly, 6 of them are GTRs. All being Left Hand Drive, which probably is all that have been ever made of.

In Australia, four Bellett sedans appeared in the Bathurst 500 in 1965 and 1966 placing well in their respective classes against the RT40 Coronas and the works Bluebird 410 SS racers. Bellets were raced as mostly club cars – However a PR90 1600GT driven by Arnold “Arthur” Treloar, Colin Bond and Barry Fergusson competed in the 1966 International Surfers Paradise 12 Hours – racing against Lotus Elans and the like in GTS 2.0. An interesting story that goes with this event is that due to the lemans start and road simple seat belt compared to the race seat belts of the competitors, Colin Bond found himself leading down the main straight after the flag dropped, much to his disbelief. Unfortunately, that soon changed and the Bellet was soon overtaken.

Later in the 80s and early 90s, Tom Amos raced a highly tuned PR90 1600GT in Appendix J (later group NB) Historics. It was competitive with the Cortina GT and looked great out on the track. This car can be seen as car 24 in the mod.

HERE IT IS.

Project History:
This project was started in 2007 by CY-33, but he deicded not to release it and gave permission to Gravin
to continue it. After that project stalled several times and the 3D part was more or less completely remade
3 times. However, Gravin and I were not willing to give up, even after Antoah released his version. During
last 2 years, the car and physics took some giant leaps and Jandri provided really awesome sound set for the
DOHC powered cars. Last, Brickyard Legends Team and Papag21 came to help and the project got the final push,
which gave the possibility make the all GT car versions, instead of just the GTR, not to mention that the 3D
was upgraded to level on which the physics and sounds were already.

During the development, several individuals as well as the Finnish Isuzu Owners Club (aka. FIOC) members drove
the car and gave their input to get it more right. In summer 2013, the development team was awarded with "The
Culture Act of the year for the Isuzu" by FIOC. Car was praised by real GTR owners as being "closest thing you
can get the real thing without feeling g-forces."

It has been now over 5 and half years since Gravin sent me message that he got permissions and files from CY-33
and wanted me to help with this project, So this has become second longest mod project I have been ever part of
and unlike the longest, This is now being released. I have no clue how many physic versions this have had before
getting here as my archive goes only to December 2009. (that however has over 150 different versions already.)

But Here it is, Hopefully you like it. :)

version 1.2 update comments:
After initial release in 23rd of February, Bellett got small developments while being part of ICV2014 online championships. After having some time off from modding in 2015, I found out that one of the skins had wrong sounds and also noticed that 1500GT was pretty close to fit upcoming championship car selection, so dig up the infos and started to double check everything. And when the update was needed in any case decided to rewamp also the physics of Works car as it still missed the ICV2014 modifications. I must admit that something might have gone wrong just before the version 1.0 release as the default setup seemed to be so much off making the car rather unpleasant to drive. However in version 1.2 The works GT-R behaves much better, though it is still hard to handle when driven on limit.

In version 1.2 Following fixes and modifications were made:
* Corrections to readme and credits.
* 1500GT:
- short 4 speed
- no-individual gear ratio selections,
- weight 845kg,
- fuel consumption recalculated
- #151 skin sounds fixed.
* 1970 Works GT-R:
- International Championship Venues 2014 modifications added (more gear ratios, etc.)
- suspension tweaked
- brand new default setup made.

In version 1.3 Following fixes and modifications were made:
* 1800GT:
- fixed wrong gearbox file and wrong default gear ratios.

In version 1.8 Following changes were made:
* 1970 GT-R:
- This new version added with new physics representing the cars in private team track racing tune.
- 3 skins replicating 1969 1000 Lakes Rally entries ran by Finnish importer.
