View Full Version : Season 4 - Suggest a Track

New rule for Season 4, any game or add-on track must have at least 14 pit boxes.

Most of the in game tracks only have 16 pitboxes also (2 cars in a garage share one pit box, most tracks support 32 cars)

I have picked a list of 10 tracks, but on checking the AIW of a few tracks I noticed that.

* Goodwood only has 9 pit boxes
* Philip Island only has 11 pit boxes
* Adria only has 11 pit boxes

I was looking forward to these, but there could be a lot of trouble with them. The idea of these tracks was to have short tracks, with slower or more lively little cars.

Can anyone suggest other street/short tracks they would like to race?

If you would like to check the aiw yourself scroll down to the section marked [PITS], you will see the first pit marked TeamIndex=0, the last pit is usually marked TeamIndex=51 (think this is the safety cars holding position), so if the 2nd last pitbox says TeamIndex=15 then you have 16 spots 0 to 15 = 16 counting the zero.

I've checked all the other tracks for the season already

P.S. I ran Adria yesterday and loved it, so if anybody knows how to add 5 more garages to it :D

If the Original authors or converters of these tracks doesn't have time to look at these tracks I would be happy to, when do you need them done by?
I'm not at home now to check these tracks so I'm not even sure there's room for more pit boxes. I can let you know something maybe this weekend.

How about some British GT tracks, like Snetterton or Knockhill? They always make for very close racing in the touring car championships.

No please, both these are dangerous. On snetterton everyone will want to pass after the straight:roflmao: BUT Donington and Oulton are nice:up:

Donnington,Silverstone GP, Monaco never tried it but saw a GTR2 vid of it on Youtube. Be great for non GT cars.Adelaide a good one. Since we done Nords how about Le mans? not 24hours lol but maybe do a 2 hour race there. I also thought about maybe doing a Oval race like Daytona or Talledega..just to be different.Maybe not everyone cup of tea though :p

Oulton Park Fosters and Oran Park are the first two tracks that come to mind when I think of where I want to race.

Any tracks where the laptimes are anywhere between 55-70 seconds usually make the race really exciting. Also using any "National" or "Sprint" version of a track is really competitive.

28 is the limit of the game, can't go higher.

Macau, is already on the calender and has 22
Monaco, is already on the calender and has 16

Adelaide, GP and 500 have 16 pits
Canberra, is right on the limit at 14
Knockhill, is right on the limit at 14
Oran Park GP, is right on the limit at 14
Oulton Part Fosters, is right on the limit at 14
Vancouver, has 16

Snetterton, don't see it for download on nogrip.

Longbeach, only has 9
Norisring, only has 10

Laguna was done last season without pitstops
Le Man was done last season without pitstops
Bathurst was done as a fun race at the start of last season, the walls took out many a driver

Thanks for the offer, can go about 4 to 6 weeks without most of them.

Adria was a big suprise, i was sure there was room for more, in fact the lane is so wide you could have 2 pitstops beside each other. From what i've seen of goodwood, it will be tight to get it up to 14 but just about enough room. Not sure about philip island, may just replace that one.

Oulton Park the old version had a bug with starting lights, and race time counter but N2LO:up: fixed it for the guys at NAGP league for their race.I wanna thank N2LO for doing this because i know that the guys are doing great job with mod tracks but sometimes they forget that we race there online with 28 drivers and then, there are some issues with pits, lights etc.Its not the individual track choice that matters but the type of track and the variety that we all want for next season

no they don't, there are 22 cars but its 2 cars to one pitbox, so you usually only get 11 boxes. Thats all thats in interlagos and a few others.

According to the AIW i have
* It only has 12
* Each pitbox is shared by up to 3 cars in a garage
* So if we had 28 there the first 4 garages would be shared by 3 cars each and the next 8 garages would have 2 cars each.

Shame really, I'd love to race there, all these tracks with dodgy pits, might be good fun in the sprint race series though, so we would still get to race them

If a track is really good and it has a limited number of pit boxes can we do something like:

Divide the grid in GT, G2 and G3 cars. People will not be able to chose which class they will compete in but their class will be chosen randomly.

Once their class in chosen then they may chose any car they want with in that class.

This way we have fun in fun track, have a challenge of having different classes all in one track, as well as solve the problem of limited pit boxes (since cars of different classes often pit in different times).

Good thinking batman, i had the same idea but it wont work.

You can't force people to drive a car, but thats not the issue. you see your garage is decided when you first join the server. If I join 15th, i will be stuck in the same garage as the guy who joined 14th, so we are sharing a pit box. Even if i leave and rejoin later, I will still get slot 15, so if we are unfortunate enough to have strats that make use stop on the same lap, we get screwed.

Anyway, 14 boxes is enough and people can request there pit before they enter, if the crew are available they will say so, it just means you need to bring 1 extra lap of fuel just in case, you crew is busy, or be prepared to wait a short time. With 60 min races there are more strategy options so i think it will be less of an issue next season anyway.

That really is an annoying thing. In the last race in NS, I had a pretty nasty crash in my 550 so went in the pits and had to repair my car. Well, as I entered pits, the pit notepad, or whatever it's called, showed up. I saw my front tires where set to hard, even though I started with mediums. So I had to change back to mediums. Unfortunately another guy was right behind me. Poor guy. I lost time choosing the right compound, then forgot to shut off the engine and was wandering why they're not refueling. After a couple of seconds, which for me and I'm sure for the guys who was waiting looked like eternity. Turned off the ignition, started taking fuel, some 70 IRR, then changing tires, all 4 of them :p . The poor guy was still waiting :o . After the tires were changed I started my engine, but couldn't leave. My car was being repaired :roflmao: . The poor guy chose to leave and try another time when I wouldn't be there, hopefully :D . Well needless to say my pit was over 100 sec, more like 110 seconds IRR. An ETERNITY!

But the race was fine, sort of. Managed to finish 6th  .

I'll put in my shout for a british track as well,Oulton Park springs to mind as an old favourite, but then Knockhill would be nice for me to have a "home" race :D ,we are blessed with some of the finest and most legendary race circuits on earth on this tiny island, would be a shame not to visit one or two of them :) .
