Hi all!
Wondering if anyone could give me a bit of advice for the Monza 2004 track. Not setups as such, but more like turn in early for chicane 1 etc. I have been experimenting with the BMW M3 and the Lotus Elise, my times arnt that bad but I know myself that positioning on the track and braking points gears etc is where I am going wrong.
I have posted my hot laps for both cars here if someone wouldnt mind watching them....
Cheers

Hi
I've watched your replay and it looks to me like you could try braking earlier but less. You seem to be slowing down too much and being on the brakes too deep into the corner, thus missing the optimum turn-in point. If you brake earlier but come off the brake earlier you have a little more time/space to 'prepare' the car more for what you're about to do with it, rather than arriving at the corner then trying to do everything as fast as possible. This may mean staying one gear higher than you are currently using and may feel slower at first, but will help overall.
A quick time at Monza comes from fast exits, not fast entries, so focus on easing the car into the corners in such a way that you can be (lightly) on the power *by the time you reach the apex* and then feed in the power harder afterwards. This is especially critical at the second Lesmo, the exit of the Ascari chicane and, most of all, the Parabolica.
Be sure to use all of the track width, too, both on turn-in and on the exit. Make the corner as straight as possible in order to maintain the highest mid-corner speed.
Hope this helps.
