View Full Version : lost damaged body.tga & problems with stuttering on 9600
Hi evribody,
didn't notice when it happened but there is no more damages on the cars.
The body damaged.tga file has disappeared from the car's spec, even in the CD.
I've re-install the game but nothing changes ...?
...and I've got little problems with stuttering (not often, but it sucks)
Tried many things to fix it (display parameters, agp on&off,oc, non oc,...)
On a HIS radeon 9600 pro 128, Omega 2514 (the last), P4@2.4 fsb400mhz.
Well, RT is the best rally game on PC to me, and I'd love to have it running smoothly (just bought a new G card for it, so....any tip ?
Beo

No wonder you don't find a damaged.tga in your game, even not on the CD - this file doesn't exist anyway in RT. There only are windows_damaged.tga's and intereor_windows_damaged.tga's in RT. This are only texture-files for broken windows. The damage of the carosserie is part of the 3d-model, located in the model.bmf. And it is impossible, that this file had dissapeared on your CD or game-install, otherwise you would get an loading-error or CTD! And it depends from the cars you use. Some Addoncars like the Alfa GTAM haven't a damage-model.
Have you checked your ingame options. Maybe, you have set effects on off. Then it maybe possible, you can't see the damage. Another possibility is to open the car.ini with the BFZ-manager and to lower the values for DamageSpeedRange, lets say to 0.4; 6.0.
Cheers,

not quite true, all addon cars have a damage model but some like the alfa just use the same model as body_lo
I'm pretty sure you have turned the graphics optins in game down to the point where they dont show damage anymore, so check those
here are some 'decent' settings that shouldnt kill your fps, and the most important ones are
view detail - set too high will cause low fps/stutters
alpha blending - should always be set to low
effect details - unless you have a fast gfx card low is best as those dust clouds really kill fps too
player detail - this is the one that effects how good your car looks and if the crash effects show IIRC
OK & thx for these fast replys :o)
I've set player details on "high" & all is all right now.
I keep on working on my stuttering little problems.
See U

 Classical misunderstanding because of wrong term of discription! Of course they have, otherwise the car wouldn't load. I meant, that it isn't different from the normal body, so no damage is shown up after a crash! :P
