Last weekend I was at the Nurburgring in my Lotus Elise. Although filming on track is strictly prohibited by Nurburgring gmbh I managed to sneak a bullet camera into my car. It's nothing fancy, but this is the result.

Good one - you had lots of fun I see.
Is helmet mandatory?

No, not mandatory, but I felt a lot safer wearing one, especially given the lack of protection offered by the Lotus if the worst happened.

It would be good to see you there one day ;)

If I get through and buy me a M3 (got one great silver one on offer - hope the bloke dosent change his mind) than I will surely go there soon.
Are you often there?

Awesome ride Joel. How different is that car from the Alfa GTV on Nordschleife?
Has the car had any tuning or is stock?

Lowndes, it felt quite different to the Alfa. In the dry it just has loads of grip and you can push very hard, just being careful over the crests where the back can get unnervingly light. In the wet is another story; a horror story . Lots of locking brakes, understeer, oversteer, all in the space of a few meters. Certainly keeps your attention! In the Alfa you could just go maximum attack everywhere safe in the knowledge that if you pushed too hard it would just gently understeer.

The Lotus is stock at the moment. Before the next trip I will be fitting competition brake pads, hoses and fluid. Maybe one or two other tweeks as well.

Are you often there?
Not as often as I would like. I've so far never been more than once in a year, but I'm hoping to change that this year. Let me know if you ever plan to go .

Nice video Joel - bullet cam? Would one fit on a bike and where do you get them?

The car looked very fluid - shame the engine sounds less than willing.....strong enough, but you know what I mean :D

Great stuff Joel

Finally have my trip arranged in September. Going to tie it in with the ADAC Nurburgring Classic, so 2 days of watching the racing and then one day on the track. Can't wait..
