I enjoyed very much Live For Speed physics...and then, I posted a simple remark in their "New Players Forum".

First time I get insulted like that with no reason by an elder community member on a newbie forum....I am really deceived they treat newbies like that. Good physics, bad people.

OK, back to other games :)

Lol... Well... I'm not sure that this guy reflects the community but as you said no one really took your defense..
Maybe he suffers from a weird disease because he's been playing an alpha release of a game for too long...
don't give up the game for that... It's a good game... Me myself I just race against AI robots... Humans are way too exhausting.

Paradoxically enough, you can not stand newbies and their questions, but feel obliged to answer them in an impolite way.

         And in pristine english... ;)
That guy is thicker than amber, nevermind an apology there.

You are right, playing against AI is enough for me too. Currently AI in LFS have some strange behavior (but works nice when you set it to quick level, not pro), but this is one of the most interesting AI among sims:
- it uses the same setup than you (in Simbin and rFactor, AI use different setup, physics and tyres....I suppose it is the same in most games). You can watch how it controls all possible setups...badly oversteering...nice to learn.
- it progresses and learns, trying slightly different lines and keeping the best one.

Current AI was developed long time ago, and never adapted to game features added in S2, like tyre temperature change and car damage...but it seems the dev is currently updating it.

If patch Y comes with a good AI, then it is far enough for me.
Bonjour a la Guadeloupe!

Good things come to those who wait! ;-)

The LFS community is just like any other online community, you get nice people, you get morons.

I play LFS a lot, more than GTR2 but I don't go on the LFS forum and have a rant about the GTR2 community, WHICH in fact is probably a hell of a lot worse than LFS', kiddy wreckers, cheaters, hackers etc.

Dziękuję ! Good day to you!

I also hope for some improvement in the AI.. I always race in pro mode.. I'll give the "quick" setting a try...

I do think the community is important to how you feel about a sim. A key factor in why I've returned to GPL several times was the fantastic community. As well as wanting an active and helpful community, I also need to feel at home and on the same wavelength.

I don't remember if it is quick or fast mode (j'ai l'interface en Francais...en Francais rapide), but in pro mode, the AI is pushing too strong and get used to warm tyres with more grip. As a result, when tyres are cold at the beginning of next race, AI spins all the time. And when AI cars are on the grass, pro AI accelerates too much and spins again, while in fast mode they behave better.
But unfortunately, in fast mode they are not so good. After training they do 1.36-37 with the smallest car on demo track...it's an average time and people practicing regularly do 1.34. Anyway, it's still faster than me.

Concerning LFS community, it seems I unfortunately found at once the ugly guy. One guy said he connected last week for the first time, and an experienced driver spent several hours (!!) to help him, watching what he was doing with remote camera and explaining how to improve. In the newbies forum, 99% of cases I can see "welcome to LFS" and nice answers...but I got "only idiots like you can't sort it out by themselve" ;)

That guy seems to be a complete Windbag!

Its obvious that he's the minority in that forum as a number of other senior forum members took a swipe at his own spilling and grammmer mistaakes! hehee..:roflmao:

BTW, you got me interested in LFS now!

Last time i tried it i just felt it was very dull, but maybe ill give it another go! ;)

Cheers, analog.

Let me say that LFS is superb, do not be put off by one guy. The online racing community on the whole is very good and you can get some cracking pickup races at anytime of the night or day.
