i was watching some vids of NASCAR 08 for PS@ and im actually impressed,
it looks liek a HUGE improvement from last year :up:

what are you thoughts on the new game? ;)


P.S i dont want any comments about "it suks compared to NR2003"

I think I'll buy the PS3 for GT5 release (or maybe the prologue) when it will have a decent motorsports lineup (Motorstorm, Nascar08, F1, and Gran Turismo... )... But for now it's far too expensive for me here (699 €)... well not really for me... but for my wife it is...

I love NASCAR. Probably the only person north of the Carolina's who do; only black person for that matter. I have NR2003 and I love it but will EA every make anymore NASCAR games for PC.:confused:

So far no rumble... though according to the boards... it is supported!

My Motion Sensor selection is grey and not selectable. I'm D/L the lastest update for my PS3. Hopefully that helps me.

OK.... been playing for about 3-4 hours... here is my first impresions:

1) Not sure why the bad reviews on this one... of course I'm not a hard core NASCAR follower, but I think the game is exactly what I expected except for the graphics.

2) I had to D/L the 1.90 update before the rumble/FFB worked! I'm not sure it's FFB, but you can feel the road, bumps, collisions, and tire slipage! Also, the resistance on my DFP is very strong... or at least strong compared to how I run it in GTR2.

3) I've completed in the first 10 chase challenges and completed silver in all fairly easily. Just either a sec. or a car behind from gold on almost all 10... but never managed a gold medal in the chase.

4) First contract challenge was to start 1st at Talladega and finish in top 15.... I finished first!

5) Next part of the contract challenge was to race at Daytona and start 4th and finish in top 10... I again finished 1st.

Settings were easy everywhere except no brake help and med/low stability/TC assistance.

I doubled check the graphics in my PS3 and tried both 720p and 1080i and both are a little disappointing. Maybe I have something wrong... but inside the car is not so great.

I can not find in the game where to set/change display settings.... only HUD and track/driving assistance.

My first and only race was at Indy... I Q'ed 42ed out of 43 race 24 laps with wear/fuel at 3X and pitted twice. I started 42'ed and finished 16th. Damage was set to visual only... and I was pretty banged up... but ran as clean as I could. No spin out////or heavy wall/car collision.

All in all I think for only 4 hours the game was fairly straight forward and fun to play. Spotter is very informative and slightly redundant.

Going to watch a little NASCAR at Indy as an FYI on lap times. Hope this helps a few folks interested in trying/buying the game.

Bottom line is the game plays as it was d4esigned... no it's not GTR2 or by far perfect. But I do believe you adjust to a game and play it as designed.... only thing I feel is weak are graphics and menu/loading times and user friendliness!

I'll try to add more here with others as I put more time in from behind the wheel... :-/

The game is getting even better for me... however it's the grahics that's KILLING ME!

I tripled checked to make sure my PS3 is set to 720p and 1080i and still the graphics look crapy!

Folks are saying the graphics are amazing... so what's wrong! I can not find where you set them in the game.... if anyone knows please post here!

you can't change grtaphics in game like GTR2 as far as I know
I have 07 and the cockpits are always poor quality graphics
