Here's a quick question (sorry if it's been asked/answered already):

Something is really bugging me with GTR2. Whenever I switch to AI, my car will not find it easy to overtake other vehicles.

e.g. I'm currently racing LeMans, and whenever I hand over to an AI team mate, or switch to AI, he seems reluctant to overtake. He certainly won't overtake down the nice long and wide Mulsane Straight, but rather sit behind a slower car matching their speed. And then seems to find the most obscure places to overtake, often resulting in collisions and spins.

Anyone else experience this? Any quick fix? I tried changing the AI aggression level to 'Angry' and even 'Psychotic', but it doesn't work.

Any help would be gratefully apprecaited.

All the AI drivers do this in GTR2 (and other SIMs) at most tracks... It's really annoying, I've even redone the AIW file for Le Mans but even that didn't solve the passing issues down the long straights, very rarely do they seem to make decent passes unless I run them on psychotic agression (they improve a little). :)

The mulsane straight on all versions of Le Mans except one are pretty skinny but I cant help but lose it over how badly the AI cant pass, even when the coast is completely clear with more than half the track open on the right side!

This goes for most tracks too, something I wish could have been solved a long time ago with the ISI/GMotor engine...

I believe that VonDutch is working on a complete GTR2 AI overhaul mod. If not I believe he is planning it. See THIS THREAD (http://www.nogripracing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=45446).

You might investigate the talent files for your co-driver(s).

For example, if you're using a Gillet Vertigo, check the car file for the drivers names, something like:

Driver="Stephane Lemeret"
Driver1="Stephane Lemeret"
Driver2="Renaud Kuppens"

For those drivers, look up the files Lemeret.rcd and Kuppens.rcd to see how their driving ability compares to other drivers. (And yes, it's very tedious to go through all those files.) If you don't find a specific .rcd file for your co-driver, then in that case it'll use the Default.rcd file. Of course, it you're constantly changing cars, it won't matter.

You can even create a .rcd file for yourself based on your profile name and tweak it so it approximates your own relative driving skill.

Maybe somebody out there will write a small program to go out and put all the talent data together to make it easier to compare them all.
