Really looking forward to this one. This time I will take a proper car for at least on of the races (Capri or Pantera - depends on my mood)

damn and blast, tried to join in on tonights race and my bloody Speed 7 pedals have decided to die on me

They've lost all calibration and will not re-calibrate, so looks like a return to the makers. :(

Hope you had a good race.

Didn't miss much (IMHO) Mark, a nasty track to race on due to the madness of what's-the-track-what's-not-the-track. But then I would say that, having been given my first ever stop/go penalty (either offline or online) and then DQ'd, I think for running wide as I turned the sharp left actually in the pitlane and being given another stop/go for cutting the track

Sort of okay track to drive, but after the first lap or two and the first cut warning I kind of forgot to drive and was too busy thinking 'how do I take this corner without a cut warning?'.

Had a good dice with a couple of guys ;) but not really racing, more trying to avoid penalties.

Roll on the next (non-modern F1) track.....

Thankyou for the racing tonight chaps. First time for me, and if I could set up the car better I might have stayed out of everyones way a bit more.
Bloody good fun though!

Quite agree Steve, good track ruined by ridiculous cut track warnings.

After 5 S/Gs on Sunday, I got one in each race tonight, both near the end of the races so just continued to the end & got time penalties. Porsche was nice to drive & I had a good dice with Psyfungi in race 1. Race 2 I spent trading paint with several different Capris but made too many silly mistakes.

C ya next week

Don't think I got a single cut warning in any race here this week?

Missed race 1, but had great fun in race 2 in the Escrot. That car is horrible to drive but quite fun to race. Messed up the start when I put a wheel on the grass out of T1 and got a big slide on, dropping lots of places. Then had a good run back through the field up to about p7 or so until I got a tap from behind and I stalled as I spun. Rejoined in a great gaggle of Capris and started to pick my way through them, then also passed Daz and Rafnix's BMW. Was about to attack Heeby's Corvette when I got a skype and the game minimised, doh! Took a few seconds to resume and had lost a couple of places, but miraculously still pointing in the right direction! Back on it and passed Daz again, but ran out of time to attempt to pass Lade at the end. Happy with P5 considering my troubles. Grats to the winners.

I just want to say Thanks to everyone for tollerating me in these past few
weeks, by that I mean your patience and understanding while on-track, I truely am thankful. I am unable to recall one instance where anyone "ran over" me or cut me off anywhere, especially the leaders when lapping me.
No small feat when they are fighting for win and having to battle each other
and deal with my inexperience, I did my best to not interfere and surrender position to faster car, I hope my actions were acceptable. My work sceduele will be changing soon and don`t know if I will be able to join you again on wed. nights, nights for you afternoons for me. I need a lot more practice before I will be competitive in league races. It`s been a "Gas" for me, hopefully see you guys on the weekends.:D

All the best to you, Kevin.

Hope you'll make it, it's been great to have someone to race with at back of the grid.

Race 1:
Just spinning around. :) Pun intended.

Race 2:
Changed setups after qually and that worked well.
Got a good start (or some people in front of me got even worse start than me), gaining a couple of positions and managed to stay on track through first corners too.
Was doing pretty well on lap 1 IMO, until came the tight lefthander after fastest part of the track: I braked early (to avoid hitting those in front of me) and went for inside corner to try to gain a place or two. BANG! I flew off the track, nose pointing backwards and managed to stall my engine there too... :( Was pretty pissed off first, then decided to let it go and drove all the way to finish. Checking the replay I saw that PsyFungi had been a wee bit optimistic with the 914's braking capabilities (TBH my line was a bit unorthodox too...). Well, things like this happen, no hard feelings.
After I got my engine running again, it was pretty lonely back there.
Had some battling with KL Mallender though
Towards the end I spinned a few times, but miraculously didn't get lapped. :D

I very much hope so "Z" but wanting to earn a few more nickles is now becoming a need, I am self-employed auto technician by trade, my brother-in-law owns Bessettes Bump & Paint here in Lapeer, Michigan. He and other shop owners have sent me all the mechanical work that their employees dont or cant do but the work just isn`t coming in-well at least customer-pay work that is. Seems like everybody I meet has a car/truck problems but they dont have the money to repair them, no matter how cheap I dare price the repair. Hopefully things improve around here soon, but I have somewhat insecure "Feelings" about the financial stability of our state in the not-to distant future. Hope things are well with you and everybody else at NoGrip, especially Dan for creating such a great environment for us to be a part of.

tip one back to hope, Kevin.

Zieman, KL Mallender, you are both more than welcome any time!

For the people up the pointy end of the grid, dealing with lapees is yet another skill to learn, so consider yourselves an important addition to the grid :)

Adds to the realism as well..."Struggling privateer mechanic running a one car team out of a Michigan garage" Brilliant (except for the real-life struggling part!)

My WNR:
Race 1: Great fun in the Capri which I had taken on Sunday - thanks Geoffers, Bob and the others I got to race with :)
Race 2: Utter garbage in the 914 - no setup, spins all round. :(

Instanbul / Cut Tracks:
Just don't cut the track fellas. Its got wide open run-off areas for safety, but you ain't meant to be racing on them. I don't know what the AI is for Cut Track, but if you go outside the white line, ease off, say "I'm sorry" under your breath and see if you get away with it.

On to next week... Wife away! Can practice! :woohoo:
