LFS is a downloadable game. It's only about ~120 MB. You want someone to press and release a CD for just 120 MB ? :eek:

...although some German folks did it really, unofficially of course (remember you have to pay for packing, postage, handling etc :rolleyes: )

i cant beleive people doesnt know about LFS .

but go check it out , Liveforspeed.net
its Demo version , that is very ok , for the peaple u just want to have some fun , with real physics. but not real cars ,

and on cd , well u can Download it and burn it , on a back up cd if u want

u buy The S2 version on the website, its a liscence like RFactore, but its in a form of a Login format so everywhere un have access to LFS , u will be able to unlock the S2 alpha , but theres a limit per week , so you cant switch , back and for if u are 2 liscenced player on a unique PC .

I just hope you will make a Full section on LFS,

cuz not everybody is a jerk in S2 8 )
.

Please define 'real physics', and also the line 'not everyone is a jerk in LFS'.
I have the LFS S2 license, I've played it twice in the last 3 months.
Playing off line is not great, the AI is pretty awful and does not inspire me to try it again. I'm sure playing online is better, but I don't have the inclination as the tracks don't appeal to me very much either.

ok , buy real physics , i always refer ,to the way a car move had behave , on the track , and how i can feel , the car and the road whit the steering , ok maybe once in a whiule u get rocketed at lightspeed in a direction u didnt know existed .. but yet again , it makes us do a reality check , (its only a game ) ..

and i never played solo in LFS , except for making hotlaps , and videos ..
online communities is great , just beaing able to do what i do when i go to real race track ... ( talking with other speed junkies in the pit area , laughing at the punk in a turbo civic , and doing donuts and 360's in the parking lot , while other race it on the track , on the other side of the wall !!

and for the Jerk , parts , i will , be stuborn and still say that we are not all jerks

Y'know I've never taken to trying this. The physics are real, apparently better than GTL/GTR2, but the cars arn't...I'd rather race with not-as-good physics than pretend cars LOL!
Are they based on real cars ala GTA stylee with different names or jus completely made up?:confused:

Lol... comparing LFS to GTA is half blasphemy but if you look at LFS cars you'll see that they're inspired by real cars.

How does LFS compare to Net Kar Pro ? don't have either yet.

How do these compare with a game like GPL for example (being aware that LFS has not so good AI & NKPro has no AI). Are the cars difficult to drive - as in no grip etc.

As some one who has both Netkar and LFS. I would have to say Netkar is better, as far as physics go, and graphics too, but there are very few people playing Netkar online. Supposedly the new Netkar patch is due before the end of this month and that may change things, as well as the added content that is also due. Even though I spend most of my time with GTL I will say that.... by far Netkar has the best force feedback and feel of any sim. The way the game handles the bumps in the track through the FFB is really well done, it actually tricks your brain into feeling it in the seat of your pants. Even though I don't spend a huge amount of time with Netkar, I do acknowledge it as the best, true simulation.

As compared to GPL. If you compared anything to GPL you would have 1000 people jumping down your throat. But it is not the revolution that GPL was, but in my opinion Netkar's FFB is definatly a major step forward. After v1.03 is released check out some forums and if the multiplayer bugs have been worked out give it a try, it is a great sim.

Thank you for that info - most helpful. So NKPro would make a great trainer for GPL & other sims (ie master the hardest sim & be competitive on the others) - or am I off with the fairies here? :p

yes there is one but its net kar , not net kar pro if i remember !!!

WHose the best !??!

it all depends on what's you're looking for !! first of all , yes net kar is more technical than lfs , on the suspension&track model , net car is the bomb , it is suppose to be a trainer for singler seater racing schools,but limitation on type of car , and way of playing the sim , .and if u have a full customized racing dash on ur steering , wheel its gonna be usefull in net kar pro . cant even start the damn thing lol ... Took me time .

or if your into ripping tramac and melting tyres doing nasty drifts , 3 wide , at the limite of grip , lag and warping , all that with full interior customizable . driver side switching , and head look , in real time on the net for the eye contact with the other drivers around the world and u can also bring ur wife and kids with you , in some cars. its the fastest plug and play sim , no hassle with version , or mod type , you open you connect you play . need to sleep ill finish later .
:eek::p

Yes, but not a a separate entity - same as LFS and rFactor, the demo and the full game are the same thing, same file.

Just as in LFS and rFactor, you unlock the additional content by buying the license.

To be more precise, it's one word, netKar, with just the "K" in capital.

- netKar was the old free version, the last version being "netKar 0.99 namie".

- netKar PRO is the actual commercial version.

No not at all. I was comparing the car stylee i.e. Real cars but different names. For example

"Remmington" = Lincoln Continental mkV

and:

"Infernus" = Honda NSX

etc etc...GTA rocks. :)

if LFS had "real" physics, why am I not playing it?

I will tell you...

the physics blow ( insert noun ) thats why.

The cars drive like crap, the FFB is crap, the tracks are crap.

OH BOY YOU CAN SEE SIDEWALL FLEX

GMotor games have used Pacejka tire formulas from the beginning, and lets see...
Mr. Pacejka is the physicist who developed the tire angle / slip theorys and formulas
that not only simgames use, but actual tire manufactures use.

HMMM http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&newwindow=1&q=Pacejka+tires

The cars models, while not real are the only non crap thing about LFS. ( which is why early next year RMi will do a full LFS conversion with our own physics, aligned to the real cars that LFS tries to resemble... Mazda RX7, Nissan 300ZX etc ). One thing is OK, the LFS has a full open permission to its cars and tracks with no restriction on the use outside of LFS and are freely convertable.
