HOW can i join this race? thx
As long as you have version 2.1 of P&G2 installed (and have activated the Terrain Patcher), then just turn up tonight and race!
HOW can i join this race? thx
Note that (unusually) this race is the P&G (Power & Glory) addon for GTR2. There's nearly a GIG of downloading involved plus multiple configurations to sort out.
Not a short-notice joinup, sorry.
Soon enough we'll be back to regular GTL, so stay tuned for next week if you don't make tonight :)
First race was ok with a cool fight with Cap7 untill i had a freeze.
Had to reboot and hopefully join the 2nd race in time.
Apologies to Laverda for the shunt in the first race. Looked like you were having a good battle with Fillneuve until I ruined it :(
2nd race was fun, took the TR4 and had lots of fun, specialy with Bill.
I know it is a fun race, but whoever finish the race in top places should
respect who is still on track and stop chating.

Could I please remind everyone, that it is common courtesy to refrain from post race chat until after everyone has finished the race.

Absolutely fantastic fun tonight guys, a real tonic after a long hard slog in the F1 venue championship last night.
Race 1 in the Elan, and I got down into the 23s in quali after some setup tweaks. Car was going good, but my seating position meant that I could not see the start lights at all, so just reacted to every one elses engine noises. Held 2nd behind Hans, and when the rain started to pour down he just did not have enough grip to hold me off. Good effort though Hans, the Daytona looked a bit of a handful in the wet.
Race 2, took the 250 Competizione, which was nice to drive, although the brakes are still a bit dodgy. Got a good start and chased Mogget and Hans briefly, but they were soon gone, just couldn't keep up with them. Spent the rest of the race desperately trying to keep a gap to those behind, but with 3 laps to go, Laverda and Filneuve were all over me, Laverda actually getting past a couple of times, but I got him back. We were so busy with each other, a small tangle meant that Filneuve took the final podium step when he drifted on past me on the final lap. Was truly a awesome race though, massive fun all round.
Cheers to GC for hosting once more, and see you next time!

No probs John, me and Fillneuve have lots of nice times
...and as you know we (all three) did again in race 2 :-)
It was a shame you dropped back at the end, we caught up to Daz and punted him off so that Fill could get a long overdue podium :whistling:
Seriously tho', Sorry Daz
...and sorry for gushing like a girl in chat before others had finished their race :blushing::whip:

...
Yes, thank you, it was great fun! I only have replay for second race (forgot to check the box to timestamp replays), but just realized we touched that time you got sideways and I snuck by on the inside. At the time I didn't feel a thing. Sorry about that.
I was pleasantly surprised by the P&G2 Cobra. A much better car to drive than the GTL version. I decided to drive this at a very late stage (after only five laps testing, and just before I joined the server), and I am very glad that I did :-)
The first race was more interesting, because I could see other cars through my windscreen! Had a good battle with Bill in his Ferrari 275 Speciale, before he ran too wide at the first corner, and slid off into the sand. After that, it was a case of keeping the car under control until the end of the race. I could see Hans in the distance for almost the entire race, but I couldn't close the gap. It was simply too wet and slippery to start throwing the car around, but I was happy to finish 3rd in my first ever race in a Shelby Cobra.
I knew that I would have a chance to win in race 2. I just managed to get pole position from Laverda's Ferrari, but I was expecting a tough fight from him and a few others (particularly cap7 and Hans in the Cobra Roadsters). I got a decent start, but one of the Roadsters pulled level with me through T1. I pulled ahead again down the straight, and held on to 1st place as we braked for T2. I had assumed that it was cap7 who was challenging me for position at that time, but it was only two or three laps later that I realised that it was Hans (I saw an apology from someone who must have made contact with cap7, and yet I could clearly see that the car behind me was alone when I checked my rear view mirror).
I checked the pitboard after every lap, and the gap between myself and Hans was steadily increasing. After posting three successively faster lap times early on, I settled down into "eliminate the mistakes" mode. No stupidly late braking. No fancy powerslides around corners. I knew that I only had to keep it smooth and consistent to record my second WNR victory. To be honest, the "Race Finished" message at the top of the screen appeared sooner than I had expected. In fact, I kept up my race speed over the next lap, until I saw other messages that confirmed that the race was over!
A very enjoyable night's racing, and you can be sure that I will be driving the Cobra again very soon ;-)
yes Mogget that Willment Cobra is fastest cos better tyres and 50 more horses but handfull to drive in wet ...

Another enjoyable evening of racing...I didn't see John W. come up so fast in race one until all of a sudden I had two Speciales pass me and I thought I was seeing double. Sorry for the giggle after the fact Laverda, but it did look a bit comical from my point of view, plus the crashing sound. In race 2 I put the Vette into the wall again and lost alot of time. I also lost my front grill again and my car wasn't handling like the sprite little semi truck I was used to. Great racing with Laverda once again . Thanks for hooking me up on the last lap bro, the check is in the mail as per our agreement ;-).
I tried the L72 and L88 Corvettes before joining the server, and the experience was.....interesting. I really got a feeling of driving something very big....particularly the L88, which didn't seem all that bothered about turning corners! :-)
After three laps in the L72 Coupe, I managed a 2:28.794.
My first (and only) timed lap in the L88 (the #9 Penske Chevrolet) was a 2:24.779.
Obviously, I could have turned up in that L88 and been seriously competitive, but I didn't really fancy driving it on a wet track. I tried the Cobra after that, and the rest is history :-)

LOL! Curses to the pair of you! Knew I was being ganged up on.....:-P:mrgreen:
Must watch the replay from Filneuves view, bet you were laughing your arse off....
I don't have either of the replays. That presumably means that I have no chance of making a "Mogget's perspective" cockpit video :-(
More fun in the wet...:-D
I took the F275 Speciale again for the first race and had a much better time with it than on Sunday. Due to a much better setup (thanks Daz ) I managed to knock 2 seconds off my Sunday qualifying time :-). That put me in 2nd on the grid which I just held onto off the line, but then down to 4th when I went a bit wide on the first few corners, and then 7th after an excursion onto the grass. Things eventually settled down with me 6th behind Paulo and John very close behind me.
I inherited 5th from Paulo after his freeze and could see Bill and Mogget a few seconds ahead but couldn't catch them, and after I had a few careless slides they disappeared into the distance.
I chose the Cobra for the second race, I wasn't that fast in it due to only a couple a laps practice, but it handled nicely so I thought I'd give it a go.
Things were going fairly well on the first lap until I spun off going up the hill and kept spinning on the wet grass trying to get it back on the track. By the time I got going again I was last.
Not much to say about the rest of the race, I managed to keep it on the track after that, gradually passing the slower cars and made my way up to 7th by the end.
Mogget, I can put the replays up if you like, but you're right, there'll be no cockpit perspective from your car.
Don't worry about it, cap7. I have adjusted the PLR file now, so I won't make the same mistake again.

Shouldn't need to Mogg, there is a tick box in the menus to timestamp the replays.
Yes, I noticed that last night :-)
I also tested the Ferrari 275GTB Speciale for the first time last night. It's quite a beast!

They work great as heat seeking missiles though.....In both races on Wed. I accidently launched one into one of my fellow competitors .
