Top3 Hot Lap scanning results

Hi folks,

now I have the basic functionality working quite nice with the GTL VcrTool (also a GTR2 VcrTool done as a sidekick). I made an experimental AutoIt script for myself which automatically downloads all the Top3 vcr's, runs the tool with them and as a bonus, also checks if given laptime matches with the actual time.

Now the results I got. I'll explain some of them. Also the order is a little bit reordered for better readability. Please do note that I haven't verified the status of them all but only a few (which were detected correctly).

First, those Error 3's mean totally corrupted files.

Second, I manually had to to remove all the Gordinis because they seem to be in the accepted list here (no objections by my side).

Third, 0:00.001 differences (which I had to remove because of too long post, were 12 of them!).. Well, I have noticed that sometimes a time displayed in the scoreboard doesn't always match the time displayed when watching the replay. The difference ain't big, so I would be ok to pass those with green light.

I didn't want to put these results into the official "Report Bad Laps here" list, because I haven't been able to verify all these manually. I'll leave the ball to the hands of the record owners. You might think this as a study of what's going on there.

If you are positive that my tool has failed and gave wrong results, let me know the filename and I try to figure out whats wrong (here or PM).

Also I'm still missing some info about the .vcr headers structure, so if you got some, please share it (in trust).

The laps where the time is off a bit from the posted time are self explanatory as to why the tool flagged them
But are all the rest, the ones where the only error is the car name.
Are these all flagged by the tool only because the lap was done with a skin that is not stock and therefore the file name for the stand alone car is a non stock car #? (As it would need to be to be a stand-alone car)
I think what you are doing is a cool idea; I am just trying to under stand the info better.

I'm not exactly sure about all the terms used correctly here, but the tool checks that the .CAR name matches with the standard ones plus (optionally) also the .BMP name (I'm not sure what is the purpose of the .BMP definition in .vcr file, never remembered to ask :P lol). If skinning process means creating a new .CAR file with a new name, that is considered modded and not tolerated atm.

Thank you. If I'll get new knowledge about .vcr files, I'll be enhancing it again. Until then I'll have to do with this version. I did try to structurize the real lap data, but it didn't take long until I run out of rule ideas why structures changed their inner format suddenly. Which was a real pity..

Of course if there's false alarms among those flagged invalid, I would be pleased to know of them and see what was the problem.

I took a quick look with HexWorkshop and after that tried also my GTL installation .. and there is something wrong with the file. My guess it's just corrupted somewhere in the process.
