Well, this has been going on for a while now and I'm tired of it. It only happens with iRacing and only happens when I exit a session. I have no idea whats causing it, but like I said it is only with iRacing, I play rfactor and GTR2 and I've never had this problem with them. When I exit in-game the screen will come up normal, then it'll go black for a second then come back and this is what happens. I contacted acer (I have an acer X223w) and they said it's my tower. The drivers on the acer website are all for vista, I have XP pro 32bit, but the guy at acer said they'll work. I haven't tried them yet because I don't know where to put them. What do you guys think the problem is?

Hi

Monitor driver?
Download it and put it on your desktop, or in a folder somewhere.
Then open display properties and click on the monitor tab. Then Properties and then driver. It should give you the option to update driver. Click on it and point it to where you placed the downloaded driver. Once it's done, you can delete the downloaded file.

Please note, I'm on Vista, so I am going on memory as to how it done on XP. Some of the info may not be exact or may be missing a step or two. But anyway, that should get you far enough to find the exact tabs you need to click on to get to the driver update page for your monitor.

However, my guess is that it's a graphics card driver issue, not the monitor driver. It probably won't hurt to undate the monitor driver though.
Does your monitor show up as a Acer X223w or does it say Default monitor?

Hope this helps :)

In CCC it says X223w, in the device manager it says its a plug and play monitor. I was thinking of doing a fresh install of XP soon anyway, hopefully that helps.

Odd that it says Plug and Play in DM, but maybe that's normal, I don't remember.
I checked mine, but again I'm on Vista. But everything related to my monitor shows the same thing. In GFX driver, Display properties and device manager.
My XP machine is not hooked up now, so I can't check it, but I feel pretty certain that it too had all the same info for my monitor.

I would try installing the monitor driver.
Have you checked Windows Update for a monitor driver there? I seem to remember they had a Acer monitor driver.

What's weird is it seems if I don't race on iracing for an hour or so, it doesn't happen. I just did 3 test sessions and it never did it once.
