Want to race in the Sunday GTL League?

Due to a couple of recent drop-outs we have room to admit some new members into the NoGrip GTL League which races on Sunday evenings.

Races start at 8pm UK time and usually last for 45-50 minutes. Qualifying starts from 6pm UK time. We run the same car/track combos that are run on Wednesdays, but the league runs them ahead of the open WNR races.

There is no minimum performance criterion for joining but you must be able to race within the spirit of the NoGrip league; that is to have a fun, clean race amongst friends. We do not race for points or prizes.

Anyone who is interested in joining will have competed in a number of our Wednesday Night Races and would need to commit to attending the majority of the Sunday races.

If you think that this is for you then please register your interest in this thread and your case will be considered. Places are limited and will be allocated at the Admins' discretion.

Not sure if I have done the required number of wednesday races or not Joel,but I would be very,very interested in joining the league races on sunday. Oh yes, I'd love to join the Sunday league. :D:up: I enjoy the Wednesday night races much more than the Saturday GTR races. :)

im interested, im new to here though, but i prefer to have a fair clean race than winning! sundays r free for me. also just sold my ps3 today on ebay, thats how much ive converted to gtl.

Actually we're not allowed to speak Dutch, though I'll say a lil bit.
Races zijn op woensdags, 9uur en 10uur onze tijd. Gewoon netjes rijden, snel is niet per se nodig. Er komt een topic in het wednesday night racing subforum over de race, datum staat erbij, en als je een baan moet downloaden staat er ook een link in de topicstart.
Paswoord wordt dan wel doorgegeven. ik denk dat maandag het topic over de race van woensdag online komt.

Hi Joel and everyone, I'd like to join in if possible for your weekend leagues but fully understand that I may not yet be qualified to enter yet. I do thank everyone for allowing me to join in on the Wed. night races thus far. I've really had a great time.

I would love to join the Sunday league if possible. I took part in my first WNR events last night at Snetterton 1964, and I think I proved that I can keep my car on the track (most of the time), and that I make sure to get out of the way of cars that are faster than me.

By the way, I was driving the #807 Shelby GT350.


EDIT: I've just had a look at the race results from earlier in the season. The number of drivers involved varies from 6 to 14, and yet it says REGISTRATION FULL ??? Surely, you want more drivers than that ? There were 27 on Wednesday night, and I personally feel that this is the kind of number that you should be aiming for.

More cars = more exciting races.

I'm not involved with running the race server, but I will point out that while generally "the more the merrier" is true, there can be technical limitations.

I'd love to see a 40 car grid every race, but unfortunately a) not every track can handle that and b) there may be limitations on the server.

When we had huge 30+ grids earlier this year we frequently had server issues. I don't know if the race server has changed supplier or whether that's still an issue.

But issue a) - circuit limitations, also comes up. For example, Cadwell Park is a fantastic track but I think it only handles a 19 car grid.

Anyway, I don't want to put anyone off. It's a great pleasure to see people find NoGrip and join in the fantastic fun we have here. So keep coming and keep on speaking up.

Just understand that there are real and practical reasons why Sunday isn't open to everyone. Not elitism or snobbery. Just trying to find the right balance - a task of Joel's I don't envy.

In fact, the way WNR has grown, I wouldn't be surprised to see some sort of limitations put on it soon.

Yeah, I understand. It's a sensible idea to monitor the progress of "newbies", and then invite them to join when they have proved themselves. I guess that I'll just keep plugging away on Wednesday nights, and keep my fingers crossed that I get the "call up" ;)

Keep plugging away Mogget. That is exactly what I did. Besides which, the races are longer on sunday and a few weeks of wnr will prepare you for that quite nicely. @psyfungi, I could not agree more with your final statements mate!:up:

After a disastrous day on the Gamers Crib TC-65+ servers yesterday, I am delighted to say that I have had some good races today. I was bumped off a couple of times, but it was my own driving that was much better. I was in a more relaxed mood, and I managed to keep the Mustang on the track most of the time.

I think you were looking at the results from the very first season of the league, not the current season ;)


We have now accepted some new members to the Sunday league, so this recruitment phase is now temporarily closed. We will review the situation again before the next full season starts in the new year.
