they call that a sim? F-that!! Im not getting that game, I would rather get a PS3 and GT5. TBH I wouldnt get any sims for 360 because the system has no good wheels.

Hard to judge the sim-ness of it when someone is driving with a controller and with aids enabled.
I will test the demo first, then judge.
Have a nice day. :)

I have been playing racing games and sims for years and have never used a wheel even my current set up for gtr2, gtr evo, rfactor and gt legends I use a microsoft controller always find wheels make games to easy and to be honest a bit sad and geeky.

There will be a multi-console wheel from Fanatec around october. That is a VERY good wheel. A tad on the expensive side though.
Have a nice day. :)

Here (http://www.facebook.com/pages/VVV-Gamer/97764147777?ref=mf) is a vid with the classic Skyline at the 'ring and all assists off. This is more like it.

And all I see is a shitty version of the ring and a lot of powersliding. Last time I checked when doing 120 in a car the dashboard doesnt magically become all fuzzy like that. I could care less how accurately modelled the cars are if they ruin any sort of immersion you could MAYBE have with the constant stream of banners. Atleast in Evo's Nords the cheapo banners were somewhat hidden.
The whole thing looks like rubbish ffs. Horrid layout/presentation and just about the worst lens flare I've seen in a game. Whoever thought of putting info over the mirror should be slapped. Sure you could probably turn it off, BUT, that just shows a lack of a brain.

btw, that vid makes shift look more like shit. I've driven 80mph in a real car and can't seem to remember the dash blurring along with my surroundings. Not to mention cars don't drive like that.
Thats the new name. Need for speed Shit

Correct. A person drove like that. I will drive different. And after I have driven I will say Yay or Nay.
Edit: What was wrong with the car handling?
Also must say I didn't even notice the blurring when I saw the video the first time. To busy watching the track and get a feel for the physics I guess.
Have a nice day. :)

Just look at the way the car is driving. It's either a really shitty driver, OR, the physics are crap. Common sense, and watching actual cars drive (both race and street) will tell you that cars do not drive like that.

Plenty of cars actually behave that way everyday. Nothing to do with bad physics, everything to do with bad drivers. 8-)
The actual driver explained that it was indeed difficult to drive the car with no aids. It is the driver's fault for my money. I find nothing in that video to support bad physics.
I find car behaviour to be pretty much where it should be based on the speed and steering from the driver.
Poor driving, yes. Bad physics, no. But we shall see soon.
Have a nice day. :)

Looks somewhat Simcadey to me. The car looked a bit too flat and stable when being driven over curbs. The blur effect, while lame in my opinion, looks like EA's attempt at simulating G-load, and vibration and other extreme effects that would be experienced by a driver, but that nobody seems to know how to correctly simulate. Look to like they're trying to make it look more viceral than most other racing games. It certainly not GTR2 sim like, but far more so than any other NFS game I've ever seen or played. The sound seemed alright. Not quite as good as GTR2 can be, or is, depending on whether or not you've got some Thinlane or Carzy90 folders in your game(totally shameless plug, you're welcomed! ;-) ).
So overall, I'd say NFS has atleast done some good Polyphony Digital like work for a change, cause Spa looked pretty dang accurate to me. That alone, might be worth the purchase, when it's at bargain bin prices perhaps. Unless of course it turns out to be more sim than cadey. At the very least it could be as good as Codemasters usual effort, which so far as I can tell has been pretty darn good for consoles.
You just really can't compare any of these games with GTR2 in my opinion. There's so much missing from these console games that you take for granted with GTR2. While GTR2 might not be perfect, tell me about another sim that looks better, sounds better, feels better, sims better, and challenges better? Exactly.
For consoles, I'd say it looks like a solid effort, and might perhaps make Polyphony shake a little bit in their driving shoes, cause I don't think PD is gonna make SPA look any better, if they even have SPA.

xbox360 gold users can download Dirt2 demo right now, as well UK/Europe PS3 owners..not sure on the driving, but all have said its a "graphical beast"..
I have a friend in the UK beta testing Supercar Challenge and he says "its a proper sim" and the graphics have been overhauled form Ferrari Challenge..should be pretty sweet!
I'll definitely get Shift..reminds me of GRID with abetter physics model. its getting massive buzz at gamescomm..
GT5 is a no brainer..
Blur=meh, might be interesting..
I barely race on my Xbox360 anymore, but I might get Forza3..

downloaded dirt 2 both for ps3 and xbox 360 not much graphically different between them but on the morocco stage I'm 10 seconds(on average) quicker on the 360 than on the ps3? done this 3 times and I just keep getting faster on the 360 than on the ps3 which I keep twitching out on, put this down to the 360 controller which has a stiffer analog stick and better shoulder buttons
think the next couple of monts is going to be like this
dirt 2 = buy on release date
supercar challenge = buy it at xmas when I have 2 weeks holiday and it will hopfully be on sale ;)
shift = buy at the end of september, gimmee a chance to finish of dirt 2
forza 3 = release date no brainer
gt5 = see forza 3

i dunno GT5 keeps on getting worst and worst for me, i mean 800 converted GT4 models and only 170 new models. the damage system is the worst thing i have ever seen, worst than NFS: Prostreet.

you make it sound like 970 cars is a bad thing  btw, who cares about damage? If you're in a race, the point is to not damage your car.

That would not be a good excuse for a fifth game with a lame, or non-existent damage model. And 170 news cars means that this game seems more like GT4.1 than GT5. After all this time, and all this hype, and it's looking like a polished GT4 with 170 new cars, and maybe some new tracks? What else? Oh yeah, a not so good damage model, and probably no real improvement in A.I. either.

Again, look at GT3. Really nothing new than being on a new console. GT4 turned out great though. Look at GT2 - Took one and improved massively.
It seems as if the first GT on a console is just slightly better, then they up the ante. Though, as long as this one took, who knows.

Again, who cares about damage? The point of racing is to not wreck. Like empty box said, they've improved, even if it's just a little bit, more and more each game. I'd rather they improved even by just ".1", as you apparently think, than have something like EAs need for speed where every single game is different but continue to be utter crap. The only good NFS game was Pro Street, and by the looks of NFS shit, it'll continue to be that way till they decide to ruin another game.

I said this a while back and i got flamed for it. I'll say it again, "there's no sim here, let's move on."
It looks great, the damage is great, everything is great except the driving physics.

I care about damage. While the goal certainly is to not crash, they happen anyway. Damage in a racing game means realism. That's what I want. That's why I enjoy GTR2 so much, and why I visit this site. GTR2 includes an excellent damage model which makes the game very realistic. If I were to regain any interest in Gran Turismo [insert sequel designation here] it would have to include a good damage model.

I wouldn't say GT4 turned out great. I say it turned out ok. It had a lot of problems and flaws. Fortunately it did have lots of new tracks, and a fresh influx of cars. But considering most of those cars tended to be only one time drives, and not very good one time drives at that, I'd say that at best the game was merely ok. The Nurburgring and La Sarthe were the "great" parts of that game. The rest was either ok, or even worse somewhat lame.
