Hi gents - I need a little help with Bob's track builder.

First one is that the track appears black in the editing view (walk/fly view). Possibly something to do with my graphics card? (GeForce Ti4400)

The materials are Ok in game, so I'm sure it's specific to the PC I'm working on or settings in BTB.

The main problem I have is selecting parts of the track to apply different materials - I've watched the tutorial videos and it seems that you just click between nodes to select and apply surfaces. This isn't happening for me, is there a trick?

Thanks

try right clicking on the 3D view and select materials (cant remember exactly because i only had the demo)
other than that it could just be that your video card isnt shader 2.0 compatible (mine wasnt so i couldnt see the materials being used)

Thanks for the tip

Didn't work. Clicking in 3D view just switches render modes (wireframe, render or mixed)
It's when editing surface/track properties in the pop up box. A cross section through the track shows and it seems that you should be able to select parts of the track profile to add different surfaces. I only seem to be able to select the entire track profile.

Some trick I am missing?

If the track appears black, your sun is probably set up below the track. Click on the sun logo and reposition the sun.

To edit track surface properties, you need to select the surface tool. Then, add nodes onto the track to separate the sections you want different materials on. Or you can select one material for the whole track if you don't add any nodes.

Roger, I've never had the problem you describe. If you haven't already, you should take it to the BTB sub folder at RSC. Someone there is almost sure to recognize the problem and how to solve it.
