When I download the RACE07 hotlap .vcr file from this hotlap section and try to replay it, I get an "incompatible version" response.

How do you replay the hotlaps that're available for download from here?

they are not .vcr file they are .ta files its is all in the rules, you download the ghostlap then drop it in the same directory on your machine then you can hotlap againts that one, as far as I know you cannot watch them as replays... But I could be wrong :p

I have just noticed Dan that the 'saved' filenames have the wrong extention, we are uploading .ta and it is changing the extension to .vcr

Anyone know how to fix the replay bug as my game isn't recording any hotlaps or race replays :cry: i've got the correct game options applied but nothing appears in replay threatre.

I have the same problem, i have upload a '.ta' file but when i want to download it on your hotlaps section, it is converted in a '.vcr'.

Speaking of the rules, I've rewritten them for RACE 07 to show how to use the *.ta files as they are catalogued in RACE 07 Offline.

I actually did this to help the NoGripRacing guys (if they'd like to use it) but figured I'd paste it here since it might be the subject of a slight argument. See, there are going to be versions of the sim loaded by people, the online and offline versions.

1: Any registered member of the site can submit times.

2: To view the times you can use the track, car, class and diffculty lists to filter the results as necessary. Note: car selections overide class selections so you must set the car option to "Car" to use class selections.

3: All times should be submitted in the same format as they are displayed when viewed in the game, for example 1:23.456
All submissions must be accompanied by a time attack (.ta) file of the lap time.
These can be saved while playing in single player "time attack" sessions.
Ghost files are saved in the "C:\Program Files\RACE 07 Offline\TIMEATTACK\*track name*" folder
Do NOT compress the replay files in an archive before uploading, or the submission will fail!

4: If you submit a faster time for a car/track combination the old time is automatically removed from the database and replaced with your new time.

5: No modifications to the game files other than graphical improvements are allowed.
The site moderators may choose to remove any time which they believe was set by cheating.
Any submitted times that do not match the time recorded in the replay file will be removed.

6: If you find any dubious laps in the database please report them here, thank you.

7: To use a ghostlap download it and put it in the "C:\Program Files\RACE 07 Offline\TIMEATTACK\*track name*" folder, then in the game and go to the time attacks section where you will be able to load the file you downloaded and race against it.

i have found the solution, just rename the extension '.vcr' to '.ta' if you want to play with the ghost of anyone.

I just downloaded your Brands 07 time and used it as a ghost after renaming it.

like I said there might be the odd bug, and that was the first one, it wanted a ta file but it should have wanted a vcr


I've nuked all the times submitted so far and now please lets try again with vcr files

The ghost laps would also be very useful to me as you can drive against them and see where you are losing time. :up:

It actually doesn't now, it is now a replay file so goes in the replay folder.

It's not possible to include the 2 things, the replay and the ghost (without obligation). I'm curious to see the ghost of otaugames on orschleben, because his replay is bugged!

With the ghost lap you can also watch it as a replay, you start up the ghost lap, then start your lap, pull off track then switch to other car then you can watch the whole lap from that car, you can also view gears, revs etc, the lap will just repeat itself like in replay, car is not ghosted when viewing it either.

I'm agree with you, the replay file often bug (also in gtr 2), the time attack file never (in my case).
It's very stressful when you win a time and you see your replay is bugged!
