Race 07 seems dark to me. The textures. Tracks. Cars. Everything really. Is this just my machine or are others noticing this? Is there a fix?

It all looks great to me. Check your gamma settings?

Gamma in game? Or in windows? I haven't seen an in-game gamma setting.

I guess Windows. I haven't seen a gamma setting in RACE 07 either.

Now the original RACE had very dark cockpits but RACE 07 is clearly better.

The tracks in RACE 07 look simply beautiful.

I found it very dark also.
If you have an ATI card you can use the profiles manager in the Catalyst Control Center to automatically up the gamma when Race'07 starts, when you quit the game all is restored back to normal.
At least that's what I do, and the darkness problem goes away.

Your display is a key factor. My old CRT monitor looks much darker than my new LCD monitor. Indeed my new monitor is really too bright, I can easily drive without headlights at night for example in GTR2. You could adjust monitor brightness or ATI drivers have a gamma control for games. I'd be surprised if nVidia don't have the same thing.

yeah I have an Nvidia card at the moment, so not an option. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I don't think my monitor is the problem. rFactor and GTR2 look beautiful. Thats my basis for comparison with Race 07. If nVidia has that same feature I haven't found it. Thanks.

I've got no problems but here the nVidia solve:
rightclick nvidia icon in system tray, and select 'colourcorrection'.
Look at the pics below
Left after right clicking in sys tray
second is the screen you get then.

of course my installation is Dutch, but you can figure out the translation by looking at the icons.

Yeah I find it darker than GTR, GTR2 and GTL, it uses the same engine obviously. Neither have a gamma option, it looks a bit more real being darker.

I do miss the headlight beams from GTR2 though :)
