I'd love to see Bridgehampton Race Circuit (http://terraserver.microsoft.com/image.aspx?t=1&s=12&x=904&y=5674&z=18&w=1). Not only because of its historical significance (http://www.briggscunningham.com/race_history.html) (search Bridgehampton), or because it's near where I live, or even because I drove the track before it was turned into a luxury housing development and golf course, but rather because it was a fine driver's track, raced by Can Am drivers like Briggs Cunningham; legendary drivers like Walt Hansgen, Mario Andretti, Phil Hill, Parnelli Jones, Dan Gurney, Roger Penske, Mark Donohue, Jim Hall; Bruce McLaren and Denis Hulme in their McLarens; Richard Petty, etc.

The track was a great equalizer - in mixed classes Vettes would lead at the end of the straight, but by the time they came around again, four cylinders like Lotus would be in the lead, having made up for their loss of power with superior handling.

At least they have attempted to fix the place up. It has showers and flush toilets. That is a huge improvement. It's also been repaved.

I would love to have Nelsons on GTL or GPL.

A bunch of kart guys and I went there this last August to test and see if we could have a race there next year. It is very rough for the latdown shifters ,b ut my sprinter was ok 1:17's and 18's. It was too rough to have a race right now. If they had the funds to grind the surface that would so nice. It has an old school feel.

Another local race track would be Beaverun in Western PA. Nice elavation changes.

If anyone would like info on one or the other I could go there. I'm about 30 miles from both.

Nelsons runs mostly bike races and SCCA events. I still enjoy the track though. If it was more corporate like MidOhio I'm sure the whole place would be updated. Also a lot of ex race drivers invest big time into MidOhio.

Bathurst and Nurburgring and a number of others are definately on the GTL list and converting them to GTR2 is very easy indeed. It's explained on more than one thread on this very Forum. Am I mistaken? Am I imagining this? Search for GTL to GTR2 and I'm sure all will be explained. The GTL Bathurst is great and there are more than one or to Nurburgrings and there are plenty of Mothers (Nordschleif) I found a particularly good Nordschleif at gtrtrax.net already converted to GTR2. It's not as system numbing as many I've encountered. My system struggles with a number of mods particularly VWGolfs!!!

I always enjoyed going to Nelsons. Even before it got flush toilets and showers. You could camp pretty much anywhere, unlike MidOhio where if you are a tent camper you are stuck in the Camping area. At Nelsons we could camp at any of our favorite corners and watch the races from our camp site. It was a lot of fun.

What about in infineon, Buttonwillow raceway park, willow springs, california speedway road course, pacific road course, surfers paradise, Bathurst, mid ohio, indianapolis, daytona, and fuji... great tracks all of them........stock car courses and gt tracks.... they would all be fun...

Here's a dumb question but i REALLY want Hallett Motor Speedway made for this game to hone my skills during the off season. All i know is that someone made the track for NR2003 but other than that i have NO idea how it could be re-created...

My question is, how much would someone charge me to make this track for the game?? I am seriously interested as it would be the final nail in the coffin that is my life if i could just get this track in the game :D

Great forum guys, and some excellent feedback and downloads. I'm a recent convert from TOCA (PS2), and now solely play GTR2 on the PC. GTL, GTR, and rFactor are all titles that I have - but GTR2 is just the best all rounder (IMHO).

I looked at this thread with a view to seeing if Macau has been requested and/or "released" for GTR2, but can't find it anywhere.

4.5 mile circuit

I live about 30 miles from this track and would be glad to support any efforts to build this track for GTR2. I went to the Grand Am race there in Sept. It was an 8 hour race that ran into the night. Awesome to see the Daytona Protos rumbling into turn one with the brake disks glowing madly :D

IMHO there is a serious lack of British Club circuits; Brands Hatch, Castle Combe (with & without chicanes), Croft, Mallory Park, Oulton Park, Snetterton, Thruxton.

In the past, these and others, have been lovingly created, or edited, for us by the likes of Philrob, FrankF55. I live in the hope that they and others will port their fine works over to GTR2 very soon.

I have been trying to make Kirkestown (NI). It's my first attempt, I chose it as it has never been done and has a relatively easy layout and is pretty flat. BUT I can't afford 3DSMAX and I haven't got Simed yet. So I am on a steep learning curve with an old copy of Cinema4D.

converting Zandvoort to gtr from gtl is very simple. rename all .gtl files with.gtr extension, then open .trk file and rename all .gtl to .gtr, these are the first few lines when you open .trk with notepad.

Today I did what you suggested and it worked awesome. Now i`ve got the Zandvoort -track
and I do love it because I`m a Dutchie.

I'm glad it works for you, it's a great track, it's been one of my faves since Race Driver 2. The GTL-to-GTR converter didn't work so I'm glad it's that simple to do it manually, though I've come across a few that don't work, possibly something to do with the .gdb file requiring editing perhaps?

Lime Rock incl. with mountain course (coming as soon as Uzzi is don with it for rF proabyl month or two)

MoSport (same as Lime Rock)

Paul Ricard (BPR mod)

Jarama (BPR mod)

Suzuka (BPR mod)

Birmingham with all 3 layouts (In progres no release date got permision from Scot J.)

Suprise track (Infield oval track in America and no it aint Daytona or Indianapolis aldo its a big oval)

I love the work you have done so far. The circuits you have worked on are excellent. I look forward patiently for what you will release in the future. I hope others can wait patiently as well. There was a pretty good version of Mosport released for rFactor. Not the bumpy messed up one thats been floating around for years. Is that the one you are working with? Paul Ricard will be nice.

Brainerd International Raceway aka Donnybrooke. The only version I've ever seen was for GPL. Although it's pretty much flat, the long straight and the very fast first corner would be fun in GTR2.

Older, faster versions of Silverstone, the old Osterreichring, Estoril pre-chicane, pre-1.5.94 Imola variants, Paul Ricard long, etc. In short, all the iterations of tracks that were at their best before a sad requiem forced a change in layout. The golden age of these tracks may be unsafe for today's cars, but that's one advantage simracing does have over the real thing. And driving on them honors those who loved treacherous corners despite the risks.

Watkins Glen, Sears Point and Riverside are all available in the GT Legends download section. Converting them yourself to GTR2 is incredibly easy. You just edit the trk file to read masfile=teammaps2.gtr, masfile=skies_central.gtr and away you go. There's a whole thread on this subect somewhere not amillion miles away from this'un.

I was trying to get together all of the tracks the FIA GT cars raced at this last season. I have all of them except "Paul Ricard". What/where is this track? I have never heard of it?
Also looking for "Bucharest" and "Nogaro" for next years season.

Being an Ex-South African myself, Kyalami is one of my favorite tracks too. The new layout is nice but I really liked the old layout with the long downhill straight and Crowthorne corner with all its action. It is on my list of tracks to convert, the old one, but I still have to get permission to do the conversion from rFactor.:up:

Try this guide. It will help you to get the GTL version in GTR2. It won't have rain and all the other goodies for GTR2 but you will be able to drive it :)

It's easy to convert tracks from GTL to GTR2, I've personally converted dozens of tracks. The prob is that there are no rain goodies but I dont care as my RIG STRUGGLES IN THE RAIN. Tracks I have from GTL are 1999 Hockenheim, Kyalami, Istanbul, Monaco, Monza 10K, Winton, Misano, Mantorp, Surfers Paradise as it is better than the GTR2 on I found cause the curbs are real and the textures and overall track looks betta, and many more tracks

Mr Men Mods has a GTL version @ http://www.mrmenmods.org/gtl_limerock.html
You can easily convert it to gtr2 rather than plonking about in gtr. There will be an actual MMM GTR2 version along very shortly I should imagine

I keep leaning towards doing the conversion until the GTR2 release is done, but I hesitate due to the Starforce issues. I already replaced one DVD drive and would like to avoid doing it again. I couldn't believe that a copy rotection scheme was responsible for the dead drive, but after reading others with the same issue, I kind of confirmed it.

I haven't looked at GTL since a mid-summer format and reinstall. Is there a "fix" for SF and GTL?

Is there anyway of adding this track layout to the existing 2004 Le Mans circuit just like we had in GTR1 ??, or, would it be possible to remove the chicane's from the 2004 version (with permission obviously :) )???
I used to use this track in GTR1 to run engine stress testing/high speed testing/brake stability testing due to the layout having no chicanes on the Mulsanne straight. It's fantastic to drive on and a real test on your car's reliability.
OK, we do have the straight on the Nordschleife but it's no where near long enough to do adequate testing.

I think you'll agree, this version deserve's to be included in every racing fan's track collection especially in GTR2 :D

I really hope my dream will become reality ;) :D

Odd...I used the converter and did a quick and dirty (and painless) switch and it works fine. Looks pretty good, actually. Sorry you can't get it to work.

Apologies if i'm just duplicating other requests but i'd love an accurate version of Brands Hatch (just the Indy layout would do). I downloaded the Race version but it's barely recognisable.

Also - has anyone done Cadwell Park? I know a GT car would probably be wider than the track itself but it is probably the greatest circuit in the UK (or maybe Oulton International, one or the other).

I saw over at RSC that Cadwell Park has recently been released for GTR2 along with Goodwood. I haven't tried them yet but you can find them HERE (http://forum.rscnet.org/showthread.php?t=280067)

How about Sebring Short for GTR2? We have it in GTL attached to the GTL 12 hour track file, but it looks like only the 12 hour track was converted to GTR2. It includes the famous "hairpin" and it is the test track setup used last week by Champ Car, and is the configuration used by the training schools, and highlighted in the Skip Barber Going Faster book.

In any event, last weekend I enhanced my enjoyment of the tv coverage of the Rolex 24 hours of Daytona by having driven the new Daytona RC GTR2 conversion and thus learning the track.

I would invite anyone to do the same with the already existing GTR2 Sebring GT track conversion prior to the 12 hours of Sebring in Mid March. What fun this all is.

Not really full track request..but more of an update..I'd like to see a texture road surface update for LeMans..I plan on running a 2.4Hr race their soon and that sparkle on the track gives me a headache..I like the darker tarmac such as the update for Road America.

If you are really desperate Download the GTL version and convert it by changing masfile=skies_north.gtl to masfile=skies_north.gtr. you'll find that line in the Limerock.trk file. I don't think you have to change anything else. Though if you wanted to you could rename limerock.gtl, limerock.gtr and limerockmap.gtl, limerockmap.gtr then you have to edit the masfile= blah blah .gtr. There isn't any point in doing this though.

PS you'll find there are two trk files one in LR_chicane and one in LR_Normal both have to be edited.

There has been a couple USA tracks made for GTR2, Daytona and Talladega road courses. To those who do such a good job at making these tracks i was wondering if another great raceway/road course could be made for this game.

If you look good enough you can see the road course in the infield.

There's a GTL version of this at the same site in Tee1's post. You have to join the site to download any tracks though and then convert the track for GTR2

I saw the A1GP race of this weekend and it had me wondering if anyone had

Let me add my vote for a Sears Point (Infineon) track -- fun elevation changes and 'technical'.

Most of you guys aren't nostalgic for the 'good old days', but I'd love to see a high-quality old LeMans 1967 built at least to the standard of Spa 67, if not to the LeMans BM quality. There is an old LeMans out there that was built for GPL, but the graphics are poor by today's standard and there aren't any bumps in the pavement (nothing to stimulate GTR2 'world movement'). LeMans BM is fun, but I want the 'pure' public road circuit last used in 1967, with NO chicanes, NO Mickey Mouse set of curves between Arnage and the pit straight, and the original Dunlop Curve (the high speed rise and fall through the first Dunlop bridge) and Maison Blanche (the testing high speed right-left-right after Arnage that really separated the men from the boys!).

Similarly, I'd die for a high-quality Monaco 1967, with no swimming pool, no Rascasse, and no Loews hotel extending the tunnel, and just that terrifying quick-flick chicane. Again, I think the the GPL track might have been converted for GTR, but if so it too would lack the full impact that could be engineered using today's FFB and world movement algorhythms.

Any takers for building these 'Vintage Classics'??? :) :) :)

And since we are doing track requests and speaking of mountains, I would love to see Portland International Speedway for GTR2, with Mt. Hood suitably placed of course! Theres a very good version for GPL with a Mt. Hood background that was made at my request I might add.

YES! On second thought, if you combine the bumps on that banking with GTR2 100% world movement and 100% G force effect, you won't be able to tell WHERE to point the car! :D

Converting a GTL track for GTR2 is really a pretty simple matter of changing some file extensions and paths, isn't it? Someone's already provided a simple tutorial on this, I believe, but I can't remember what thread I read it in. Can somebody else help us here?
