I just wanted to load the game for a few minutes to check out what cars are going to be available...ended up staying an hour just reading about all the cars racing histories and listening to classic rock n roll music.

Probably a good thing. The Sunday race in Changeable conditions was one serious challenge! Fun, but really quite difficult.
Thanks SunAlp, thanks GamersCrib! :thumbup::thumbup:

Well, I guess I had the most bizarre accidente I've ever had on my virtual racer career :-)
Getting out of the track on the back straight, after look at the mirror, being leader, was incredibly dumb hehehe.
Before the second race I had to help my wife with some domestic stuffs and couldn't do the race.
Next Saturday will born my first child. It's a girl. I don't think I'll be able to race on Sunday.
Cya,

Big apologies to Psy for spinning across the track in front of you in race 1, ended both our races.
Race 2 went a bit better & I finished 6th after a few mistakes. I was mystified why I was some 5s a lap slower than Mogget & Laverda though, but when Laverda was behind me in race 2 his setup was clearly much faster in the corners than mine. So some work to do there methinks!

I was using the default setup for the L88 Coupe. In fact, it was only the second time that I have ever driven the car. It didn't take me long to realise that I had to brake nice and early, and not to try turning corners before the car wanted to!
After setting a fast time in qualifying, I decided to start from the back of the pack. It was fun moving up through the field, and I was soon in 3rd place behind Laverda. At that time, I was pulling some consistent laps, and I had a pretty good rhythm. Laverda was a more difficult proposition though. I had to wait until he made an error before I could get past, and start thinking about Lui up ahead.
I steadily closed the gap between myself and the Ferrari, and then Lui made it easy for me by making a real mess of the approach to T3 (something that I had done two or three times in qualifying :-)). I slowed down at that point, hoping that he would be able to recover quickly, so that we could continue the battle. However, I realised that Laverda was rapidly approaching, so I accelerated away.
Unfortunately, I seemed to lose my consistency at that point. It might have been a slight tyre issue, but I'm really not sure. I just know that I wasn't as smooth as I had been. I managed to maintain the gap between myself and Laverda.....until I approached the tight right hander after the downhill section through the trees. I tried to brake a bit more gently than normal, but unfortunately this involved too much "gentle", and not enough "braking"!!! I turned the steering wheel to the right.....and the car completely ignored me  After a brief play in the sand, I got back on the track, but Laverda was a reasonable distance ahead by then. However, he clearly slowed down on the S/F straight, so that we could have a bit of a fight.
At that moment, I knew that I wasn't going to win the race. The fact that Laverda had waited for me was enough to convince me that he deserved the win, even if I had managed to get past him. Well done, mate

Had issues with P&G last night. For some reason my PLR file had totally disappeared, so was thrown for a while by that, before eventually getting in just before the start. Unfortunately, I hadn't turned on the mirrors, or the HUD, and worst of all, it had given me an auto box to play with, no thanks......Got DQed for something, left, got my profile sorted, and then had some back of the pack fun in race 2. All very hectic....See you sunday.
Oh, and hearty congrats Luis! My son is now 12 weeks old, so I have just been through all that stuff, have fun.....

No probs Geoffers - I shoulda got on the brakes a bit more.
That's 6 races in a row I've not finished. Due for some success soon!
Clearly I have too much time on my hands right now...

Race 1 was a bit of a shambles, got away well and was close behind Luis Goi for the first lap. Got a tow up the s/f straight but then misjudged the braking for T1, drifted left, clipped the grass and it all went wrong from there. I lost several places and spent the rest of the race trying too hard and making a lot of mistakes. The worst of which was locking up and sliding straight into Geoffers (sorry about that :crying:). Then later on I was starting to catch Cap7 but didn't avoid a spinning Trebor69 .
The second one was much better :-) I managed to find an extra second in qualifying and spent most of the race swapping places with Kimi. He was much better on the brakes but I was a bit quicker out of some of the corners, so it made for some great racing. Good stuff
Nice pic by the way Psyfungi, I like the way you've managed to distill all the action, emotion and results of the incident into just four simple slides
....The fact that Laverda had waited for me was enough to convince me that he deserved the win, even if I had managed to get past him. Well done, mate
Thx :-)
Finally, I think I've got a handle on the P&G tyre "feel"

And judging by the relatively 'Buggerit' free runs I've had this week, I'm finally getting to grips with my new pedals. Thank goodness....

It was quite amusing watching MartinNS last night on the P&G2 Server. His brother had apparently given him a G25, and it was quite evident that he was struggling to adapt to the stiffer brakes. He kept sliding off into the tyre wall in his Lotus Elan when turning tight corners at Oschersleben B!

It's a shame that the results analyser fails to correctly identify a DQ during qualifying. I must have overtaken every car in the field after starting in last place, and yet I am only credited with 5 overtakes :-(

I was too :drunk: to continue or remember it...but by the looks of it, I had one hell of a first lap in race 1. :drive2:
