Anybody hosted a race on MULTIPLAYER?
Do you have to open ports for that or is that only on dedicated servers?
What do you do to open the ports?

I've only been able to host a game with the dedicated server software successfully so far.
I attempted to host just through the multiplayer menu but my friend could not join the game. I'm guessing just hosting your router should know via UPnP but it wasn't working for me. I even attempted to forward the server ports from needed from my router to my machine and that didn't work either.

It looks like there are a number of things that Steam doesn't do very well, or at all.
They give the impression that you can easily host online. But it really doesn't seem to work at all for individuals.
Their world rankings isn't working.
Their hotlap replays are usually garbage. I've done a number of laps that were worth keeping and the files they kept are simply screwed up.
The pb records sometimes don't update with times that should have been recorded there.
I really hope they put one or two decent programmers on their coding for the game. It deserves to work better than it does.
