The plan to bring the Nordschleife to WTCC had been praisen a lot in Macau.

Infamous
Logical, because the circuit would fit the WTCC-cars very wel. The touring class which is getting more popular year after year, drives already on historical circuits like Anderstorp, Monza, Zandvoort, Pau and Macau, and not for no reason.
The races should be driven from 2009 on, in 24-hour weekend on the Nürburgring. One of the advantages is, all the recourses for tv programming is there already, also an adavntage is that every years 250,000 people are coming to the weekend.

TDi
Shortly: Seat says their TDi cars will do very well there.

And also the drivers like this idea.

I guess they would drive 2 or 3 laps, or what?

Problem is that 22km track is surely problem for Tv-broadcasting, nowadays they want neat package on a small area which is easy to control and placing the cameras is easier too.

That's why Rallying has never made any big breakthrough on tv.

I think Rallying is different they have alot of different stages, to cover all of them with cameras would be a nightmare.
One 22km circuit on the other hand wouldn't be so bad.
The more racing on the Nordschleife the better

WOW!!

that would be ace!
There probably will be a problem with TV cameras but still WTCC on the Nords would be awesome!

I disagree a bit here. The past few years here in Germany we always had live coverage from the 24h at Nurby in TV. And it got better from year to year, really.
As a sidenote, it is planned to make the 24h race at the Ring an international event from 2008 on.
I am booking my tix now ;)

^-^ And it is for this reason that the track has just been defaced with some massive chainlink fencing around the entire perimeter of the track, such that there is now nowhere that you can spectate without having to look through the darned stuff. It totally destroys the atmosphere of the place. Fecking meddling FIA

Ah, i wondered why they were putting that fencing up when i was there a couple of months ago. Big shame i agree, but i suppose they have to think about the possibility of an idiot in the crowd who wants to make a name for himself by running onto the track during a live TV broadcast (remember the 2003 British GP?)

Or Hockenheim 2000, when Barrichello won his first GP.

....or the unfortunate marathon runner at the olympics at athens in 2004.....I think it was the same guy at silverstone 2003 who destroyed the olympic marathon result. and the race of that unfortunate brazilian I think
quite a shame

There's an article in this week's Autosport saying WTCC will be at Zolder in 2008. I'm sure Simbin will be pleased as they already have a good version of Zolder, and it is a track I like in GTL.
