:blushing:
Sorry about my post last night ,not n the best of moods as ill probably be out of work next week after 16 years with company and unlikely to get a job soon because of the situation in my country.
Anyways,
Shift ,did some more testing tonight and i have to take back some of the comments i made
Regarding lag , there is lag as far as i can tell if your frame rate is not consistently above 60fps,i reduced my res to 1280x800(16:10) and get fps between 60 and 90 and cars are so much better to drive.
also changed some of the steering settings in the menu ,used to have an issue with the brakes ,setting this to 20 allows me to feather far better,
steering and speed steering to 60 gives better control in the center where i do most of my steering and it seems to have gotton rid of a hole of about 2 degrees each way from center in the ffb,ffb to 9
I also commented about the menus still messed up,this is still the case but the menu i was referring to is in the replay if your steeing wheel is off center,a small issue i know but incredibly annoying.
I commented about the ai,this i do not take back ,they purposely side swipe you when u are over taking on any track,i you pick the spa for a quick race with 15 ai ,look at the car to your left ,upon starting the race it immediately goes to push u into the wall while try to find the race line dictated by the game,in Nordschleife they all pile up on the first corner.
Screen shots of settings i am using are below if anyone wants to test.
My system
Quad core 6600 overclocked to 3gh on standard vid(stable under 24 hour test at 100% load)
geforce 8800 512
4 gig dominator at 1066 (stable under mentest 24 hour full load)
4x 500 gig drives
Cpu water cooled
Dell UltraSharp 2408WFP 24"
X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Fatal1ty Professional Series

No problem doggod, you didnt offend anyone :p

Well the game still needs another patch of course but they fixed ALOT of things with success.

The AI can be harsh sometimes; try to play with medium difficulty instead.

My sensittivity values are different... they're all 0%, except for the steering that is at 50%.

Btw if can you can raise the refresh rate of your monitor just choose the highest you can get....better for your eyes from what I've read :)

Im sorry about your job...good luck finding one ;)

cheers

I wonder what´s your fps back of the grid, sixteen cars?

f0xx no real issue in beating ai over 3 laps in hardest difficulty(2 out of 3 races on average) all assists off execpt clutch as i dont have one.however if they spent less time trying to run me off the road and instead try to win it would be getter for me
lukilla ,60fps min at back of grid ,usually 70 dropping to 55-60 where there is a pile up of 3 or more ai, runs to 90 odd with no other vechicles but also depends on what track and then what part of the track.
Am going to do a new unpacked version with the mods to remove any excess stuff (animations ,crowds , tents etc ,to try and even out the fps.
my advice if anyone wants to see if what i did help them is to reduce res to minimun based on there system(compare to mine)and reduce all 5 settings to low or off and run a race, then increase visual settings until such time as you start to feel lag and back off 1 notch, this is typically the way you overclock a cpu to get stability,it seems the same for this game.
Also i race only in the cockpit view so that is the only one i can vouch for,but i assume that the it dosent matter which view u use as long as u can get the fps high enough.
An observation with regards cpu is interesting though and my opinion on this is that faster core are better than more core in shift.
While playing in windowed mode an watching the the cpu core 0 is at 60% core 1 and 2 at 30% and core 3 at about 70(average),most people get slow downs on bends ,i assume this is from nvidia physx having to do more calculations on the tyres (going around bend rather than on straight)and that it has to do them in a linear fashion ie one after the other so if this case having extra cores is of no use as it needs to know the result of last calculation to incorperate in in the new one,so therefore a faster core will be better than more. again this is my opinion based on what im seeing,
U may have to reduce ai on slower cpus to gain faster calculations of tyre physx for remaining ai and you

Faster and more cores are important after this patch because they optimized the game to run better with multiple cores..

The game runs so smooth it probably can handle more than 16 cars on track...
