Paint gloss and reflections

I guess none of us are too thrilled with the standard GTR2 car paintwork, so will have downloaded an update to EMAP_PAINT.DDS, which improves things a lot.

However, I was still not entirely happy with the effect in P&G so experimented with the file myself - no real improvement. I then noticed that the EMAP_PAINT.DDS in GTL has a different image from the one in GTR2 so tried that instead. To my eyes it is a great improvement - or is it just my imagination?

hmmm... GTL probably does look better, considering the type of car. :up:

Strange... personally I find the GTR2 reflections a bit better (more glossy but without being exhagerated), that pic by HR186S ensures that feeling.

The GTL emap for paint makes the car look a bit "matt-finish" in that regard if it makes any sense.... maybe it's a matter of tastes?

I, for myself, like the cars in P&G the way they are, with the emaps they use originally. :)

Use the extra emaps from the porsche 2006 supercup,then download my mask files,together looks pretty good imo..

Well I'd brighten the mask up for that particular car and GTL cube map. I always thought the Ferrari looked a bit strange with the GTR2 reflection. However that said, the GTR2 one does look better on other cars...

Are they brighter, or duller?
