SCGT cars are usually lower poly than RT low cars, and with no interiors. But tracks......

Donny & Brands eh MS?

I love Donnigton Park - for sure it will show up which cars don't handle (or tyres ;) ).

Wonder how accurate Donny is? Between the left hander at Craner and the Old Hairpin the road gently switches to off camber. Under the bridge after Coppice there is a slight bump and the road falls away enough to lift a motorbike wheel at 140mph. Goddards is off camber and nasty bumpy.

It is not that accurate. It looks accurate in the top view, but it is very flat and smooth. These are things that can be fixed by someone who knows the track. I do not, being all the way over here in America. :D I may be able to find a topo map, but will need help with the details.

And yes, those are real screen shots, but not until after Pikes Peak is done.

Does anyone know how to make the "Wrong Way" ms. go away?

Can someone tell me which part of Donny is this picture from?

Yeah, I don't suppose Donnington is high priority. If anyone knows how to extract tracks from GP500 - their Donny is pretty good.

Pikes Peak - for sure is much more the style we need here

Looking back up the start/finish from Redgate. The van at the back is on the exit to Goddards, the 2nd red car on the right (half out of view) is just about on the blue/white chevrons at the pit exit. You see, even here that there is quite an elevation change on the straight.

Here is a Donnington beta. I made this in about two hours, and that is all the time I will spend for now. Don't tell me it doesn't look good; I already know what it looks like. This replaces Russia stage1, and it is best to install with Roger's Nurburgring. In fact, I expect to make a couple more conversions, and I expect people to install them together. I will make custom textures later, but I have found a couple ways to make them work together.

If someone who knows Donnington better than I do wants to work on it, go ahead.

EDIT: This will be in the downoads section in the near future.

There is a way of removing it, but l don't know it, maybe its on an alpha channel?

The reason that you get the wrong way message even when going the right way is that you have crossed the axis line twice, if you cross that line its OK, but its when you recross it in the opposite direction that it comes up.

You will have to reposition the track slightly so that you do not cross that axis line. lf you look at your track from the top view you will see the line corresponds with the wrong way message coming up at the same place.

I thought we have to put the start at 0,0,0. No?

No, not necessary. To overcome the wrong way problem (and pivot resets etc.) - I tend to make a small object (say 1x poly 10cm x 10cm) at 0,0,0 - call it "track" - then I move the track proper to where I want it (anywhere as long as you don't cross the 0,0 axes twice seems to do the trick). After that I simply select the poly called "track" and attach the real track to it. The start objects actually define where the start is, so place them where you want the start to be.

Bear in mind that the car is set on the track facing positive "y" (direction in Max) so you have to orientate your track to suit that.

if you still need to remove "wrong way" you can edit the textfile where all those things are written. just replace it with nothing. can't recall wich file it is, but you'll find it

I think I have solved it by moving the track. I made a little square, and named the track Track01, and set it so it only crosses the x axis. Tried crossing no axis, but I always got started under the track in the air.

I actually need the "wrong way" sign occasionally. :P especially on the night stages. After a 900* somersaulting, barrel roll :D

Never with beta01, but I just uploaded "Donington beta02" which has proper splits for 3 laps, and a new texture. :)
