Post and discuss the random things you've made, in your life, and ongoing projects. Other than cockpits, because there is a dedicated thread for that. Lets see some of the other things you have made.

Ill start, this is my "Cot couch" It consists of a cot, and 2 foam pads, one on top of the cot, on which I sit and the other leaning up against the wall, in which i lean against. it isnt really an engineering masterpiece but it is comfortable.

I had a crack at a routed 3 lane slot car track a few months back. It runs 1/32 cars. It now has computer timing and a bit more scenery, its a constant WIP.

Real sequential transmissions have a longer shift stick because you dont have to reach for the shifter so you have your hands on the wheel faster and for longer. I took a paper towel tube and filled it with golf balls and I rapped the shaft in black duc tape.
Also most of the cars in PnG didnt have a shifter as short as the one on the G25 so it works for that as well.....

What does it feel like, isn't it a bit wobbly? I do like the idea but I think I'd like it to be a lot more firm than is actually possible, especially with the G25 shifter being quite flimsy even without the extra length... Oh dear, this post does seem to be a tad rife with inuendo. - Just to make myself clear, it's not intentional:-).

Fair call, but the OP of this thread does not ask for that.

Well surprisingly its not that bad. I agree with you I wanted something more permanent but I dont want to totally chance the shifter. Thats why my shifter mod is easily reversed. I might go buy 2 extra G25 shifters and turn one into a purpose built sequential, one beefed up H pattern, and leave my original stock. Or I might cannibalize a game pad or my DFP's sequential unit and make one with a reverse lever and everything. Then again I had other plans for the DFP that included making the wheel for formula/open wheel cars only basically since no clutch is needed and I can buy a MOMO wheel from Road America when I go......it all depends on time and money like most things in life....

Nice engineering  Though it also looks very... rude  Or is that just me? Pizzaman?
Made this desk myself last summer to have more room for my PC stuff (posted it earlier in the Show Your Cockpit thread).

Hi guys!
As far as I'm still playing Rally Trophy, my wife gave me for Xmas gift an I-Need PC-USB V9 Rumble Wheel (very affordable), but I got in trouble with the steering wheel Dead Zone and center position. As long as I'm not a drake in modifying software drivers, I thought it was better putting hands on my soldering iron.. :-)
So, this is what I made: put in series two pots (4,7KOhm) on the steering original potetiometer (10KOhm, linear).

And this is the extra simple schematic:

It works fine for me, and gives the facility in adjusting sensitivity in real time.

Thanks for the scheme, will try to do the same....
...but how on hell did You assembled back the rubber wrapped around the wheel base (centering spring)?!?
I have the same wheel but eventually the rubber snapped after a while...
A nice low budget wheel must say!
I paid 15 Euro for it, and except the rubber, it works great!

was that a sonic boom at :06?
AndreiRS
24 February 10, 04:17
Hmm the fan blade has 30 centimeters or 12 inches, the diameter is 24 inches and the circumference is 1.915 meters (6.28 feet). Then we have 1725 RPM / 60 = 28.75 revolutions per second. Now I just need to calculate the final speed.
1.915m X 28.75 = 55.05 m/s which is equal to 198.2 km/h or 123.1 mph...
Nahhh its far away from a sonic boom man... :P
