View Full Version : Pedal stand for Fanatec Clubsport Pedals
I made this a while ago because on my PC room's polished floor the pedals were sliding a bit, plus I liked the pedals to be tilted a little.
Attached is the original drawing/sketch that I made, the final design consists of the parts that I drew boxes around.
Also attached are some pictures to get an idea of the final result :)

Did you break your pinky with that fourth thumbnail?
Other than that, nice work. :)
Edit: OH MY GOD! A real life application of the sinus! :D

Nope, the top happens to be very flexible

Would you believe it? :-) Could also have used Pythagoras probably, but that would have been showing off I think ;-)

Very nice job Mr. Redi.
That's something along the lines of what I've been planning to do, but have never found the time to tackle it.:-(

Thank you :)
Well now you've got the plan and example pics, no excuses anymore!
Takes a couple of hours to put it all together :)

It's so silly - most advanced sim racers mount their pedals the other way up, yet we still buy them the wrong way up! The only company which seems to sell them the correct way, mounted at the top, is Saitek.
Why don't companies like Logitech trawl sites like this for ideas?

Making a pedal set with the pedals upside down makes for a much larger pedal unit, which is more expensive and might scare away potential buyers because they don't have the space for it :)
I had a look at the Saitek R660GT and although it's a novel design, it looks very unstable and not very durable. And only 2 pedals.

Oh yes, I agree, the Saitek wheels are not great (nor the pedals), however the point I was making was that they are the only company that do it, mainstream at least.
It's odd, you would think Logitech might sell an alternative design, like, maybe you could build a kit; pick your wheel, pedals, shifter - they would make a lot of money this way.

if you want pedals that hang, you could take your pedal unit and bolt upside down on a self on the desk. ( see fig. 1A) wouldnt that work?

Then the gas and clutch would be reversed......it'd be harder to heal-toe

you could always remap the functions for the pedals? map the gas to the clutch pedal?

You could, but it would only work well if all 3 pedals are perfectly symetrical. On the g27 for example, the gas is twice as far from the brake as the clutch is, and it is set back 1/2 an inch to help heal-toe

You could build your own pedal assembly, then gut whatever your using for the electrics, pots and such. That way it will still interface with your wheel.

As my warranty was up i disassembled the unit and swap the accelerator and the clutch around.....Next Im going to make the box about 250mm wider then remove the internals from the base unit and position the pedals for heel and toe.....;-)
With the CSP it's relatively easy to swap the pedals, it's discussed here (http://www.911wheel.de/?q=node/2156).

How do you like the pedals ? Have you ever used G25 pedals and do you think this setup (Wheel and Pedals) are better. I was considering buying some so I,m trying to find people that have used it . I read reviews but ..they use em for 1 or 2 days and make a review.
Your setup looks like it will be really adjustable.

I had a G25 for several years and have had the Porsche GT3RS wheel for about a month and the CS pedals for 3-4 days.
I like the wheel better and the pedal much better.
BTW I had the load cell mod on my G25 pedals, but I still have more control with the CSP.
FFB on the brake , I had no idea they had that. Think I,ll go the same as you did. Is the wheel quiet ? I read its belt drive.
I had a real bad go with my G25 the shifter broke 3 mnths after I got it . They wanted me to ship it and the cost was nuts. Never again!!
The Porsche wheel is pretty silent, and in any case when racing with the sound up you won't hear much
I've had the G25 for about 2 years before moving to the GT3RS CSP, so I know the G25 pretty well. The G25's pedals were good, but I like the feel of the CSP better. The G25 wheel was okay, a bit small and the FFB was a bit unpolished to me. The H-shifter was OK but felt like a toy.
The Porsche wheel's feel and FFB are much better IMHO, bigger, thicker wheel and FFB is much smoother. It's a pity you have to buy the shifter pods separately, but they are much better than the G25's shifter.
The CSP are just a stupendous product, especially considering the price. The design is completely open so the pedals are easily adjusted, modified, swapped and maintained. Performance is excellent, they feel very nice and the brake pedal is something really special (but it does take some time to get used to :)).
The pedals and wheel look well made so I,m going to remind the wife I have a birthday coming up:) , if that does,nt work Santa will be making an off season delivery in May lol

They;re better than you think. It doesn't look durable, but it certainly is. It's just they used cheap looking plastics.
The pedals don't slide because your feet are resting on the base as well, and well the pressure isn't that high. But it's better than Logitech Driving Force EX. Your feet are more comfortable. The wheel is about equal. I found the Saitek a bit more stable, but the wheel's rubber is too hard. It has some kind of studs that hurt. And well, it has a sequential gear stick for both sides.
