please post any problems or fixes here..
as previously stated most issues are going to be in the .trk, gdb, or aiw and should be easily fixed.

necrophile69 Don't know if anyone else has encountered this but the safety car is parked in the middle of the grid when I run this track on my PC.

I have checked this out quite thoroughly ricky & the problem of the safety car being in the grid happens in every class, in every mode EXCEPT practice mode...
Dunno if that helps you or not

ive finaly managed to get my track into race 07, the track loads ok, but when i click drive, the car floats about... any help would be appreciated since i realy only a novice.

I also get a lot of flickering in the pit lane on 'Cadwell'
It's fine for about 5 seconds or so, and then it'll just flicker like crazy
I'm using an 8800 card (could be an issue my end of course, but everything else seems ok!)
Incidentally, too many AI and they just spawn in the middle of the grid & simply refuse to drive... Not a problem as such, just don't have more than 19 (I think!!) AI drivers in a race ..

Which track are you having this issue with? this sounds like a material naming issue, but i checked athe tracks and had no issues..just let me know..
Elwood, that helps a lot.thanks! as far as the safety car in the grid..i have to find it but it will be a slight fix in the aiw..
the flickering is typically a mesh issue..ill take a look when i get home..i have 6600gt and no issues there..

Kyril, more than likely, those particular gmt files may not have been tagged with shadow receiver...so that may take some investigation..but other than the "eye candy" of it, it shouldnt affect gameplay..we'll take a look and see what can be done..thanks for the input!!

not a problem, Flash..this thread should be used for any Race07 track conversions, public or personal..
it sounds like you need to open up the track in simed and correct the material names. i presume your car is starting in the pits, so that texture should be called "road", im willing to bet that the current name is concrete or pit or something like that..just put road in front of it..re-export and you should be good to go..

I hope you didn't bet too much, since "concrete" has the same effect as "road". Material naming magic is defined in gamedata\locations\specialfx.tec, and a quick decrypt results in:

I haven't looked at your conversions yet, but I hope you didn't edit away too much, for instance lgroad shouldn't be renamed to road etc.

no, i didnt adjust any material names on my conversions and all driveable areas were tested..
This particular instance, we are speaking of Flashcomponent's conversion he is working on..
Flash, if you have 3dsimd, youll need to open up the track and use the info Mojo posted and make sure the spot where your car is at is named correctly..

Well, I've just installed the latest beta (169.21) driver for my 8800gtx & I'm pleased to say that I no longer get the flickering at all! :up:

I downloaded Laguna Seca for Race 07, installed it, but once I select the track, it just sits there and says "Loading...." forever... anyone else having this problem? So far all other track conversions have worked out just fine.

rickylix Norseman, check your laguna folder and make sure the .hat file is in there..the issue you state typically happens when the .hat is missing..if you dont see it there let me know and we'll have some post that file for you..

Silverstone National.. I did a quick 3 lap Radical (or whatever you call 'em) race, but the race went on.... and on...and on... and on...

Blueband (skybox???) needs fixing at Surfers. It looks like the place is about to be engulfed by a gigantic tidal wave. :)

Anybody else find this when running lime rock mountain.
btw, this was in: other events/practice mode - so i don't know if it's happening in the race, but the cars were doing a constant 37mph like pit limiter on only without the limiter sound. I'll test it in race conditions for sure.

EDIT: Sorry folks, don't wanna be a real pain in the butt... - ctd starting single race (the spinning gear cog on the default loading screen does'nt hang or anything like that(good thing) - it just stops after about 3sec).
Hope i've explained this ok.
Also, tried to import Model (MtLimerock.trk) file in 3DSimed but the .trk does'nt show up at all.
Any help would be really appreciated mafrien's.

Hey Splitpbt..N2LO converted that track, so we'll have to check with him..and you wont be able to import the track in simed, because most parts in the trk point to encrypted files..the best thng to do is copy all the gmts and dds into a brand new folder..also, copy the trk file into that new folder. then open the trk with notepad and remove everything except the objects them selves..then you can import that into simed and take a look..
Dick..that is the skyboxi that came with the gtr2 track..can anyone grab a different skybox and get that fixed..very easy..just find another gtr2 track(city preferable for surfers) and replace the current skybox..just use geditor open up the main gtr file and export the skyboxi, then open up the maps and export any bka, bkb, bkc files..
Also, guys..im going to do my best to take a look at any of these bugs, but a very large project fell into my lap and i need to focus on that for the next couple of weeks..thanks for your patience..

Thanx for the reply Ricky, i know you're a busy man. Got the .trk to show up in 3DSimed everything looking ok. Saved as: GTR2.GMT/Save Object... still the same only steam dump when all cars are loading. Maybe just re-d'ld and see if that helps, failing that i'll wait for an official fix. Anyway once again, thanx for your help mafrien'.
