hi,

hardmode (in netkar / cfg / nkpro.ini under FORCEFEEDBACK option) was introduced in netkar 1.0.3.

Is this option recommended in 1.1 ?

For me if i enabled hardmode it seems to be very closed to real open wheel cars. Without this option it seems that over/understeering has effect on FFB (oversteering = lighter wheel).

Thanks for your feedback about that.

From the developer Stefano "Kunos" Casillo at the Drivingitalia Forum:

hard mode is a "F1 oriented" approach to power steering, the idea is to give a stronger feedback at low downforce levels that remains manageable at high downforce levels. This is simply achieved through a non linear response in the wheel torque/steer torque curve that works a bit like a "compressor" in music terms.

the perceived feel, at the end of it, is an harder steer in the initial part of the turn (thus the name "hard mode") that looses some definition in the high slip angle area, which is right where you'd want it to detect understeer. So it is a trade off between a more "solid" feel and a more "definite" feel at high level of grip/slip angle/downforce.

personally I'd turn it off (at it is off by default).
