As you have already seen, I'm working on another group B conversion from RSC. Altough it's a pitty that mechanical failure cannot be recreated, I will continue to work on this project. Here you can follow the work in progress.

Looking great :up:
Will start gathering data on it.

An incredebly ugly looking car, but should absolutely be remembered in the group-B category. Looking forward to try it. :up:

I beg to differ. As it's not 'good looking', no argument there, it's functional looking. When Williams (indeed the F1-team) designed the car with all the wings, it was an example, soon to be followed by the other Group B-teams (Peugeot, Lancia, Audi). Unfortunately by the time the Metro got homologated, the others had moved the game even further.
The biggest mistake was the use of a normally aspirated engine...
So don't call it ugly, but functional :D

First research turned up with the next figures:

Engine:
Max Power=410hp@ 9000rpm
Max Tourqe=270lbft@6500~367Nm@6500rpm
Tourqe curve is relativly flat from 3000 onwards-from 5000->9000rpm the tourqe is above 230lbft~312Nm
Dry engine weight~143kg

Transmision and driveline:
4WD 35%/65% front rear distribution. Front and rear diffs limmited slip
twin clutch, final drive adjustable with alternative step off assemblies
5 gear transmision(need help with the gearing-if no gearing is avalible I will use simmilar end speeds as with the 205).

Dimensions:
Front track=1510mm
Rear track=1550mm
Wheelbase=2391mm(longer than the S1 wheelbase :eek: )
Length=3350mm
Width=1880mm
Weigth=1050kg

Performance:
0-60mph......3,2s
0-100mph....8.2s
0-110mph....10s

Data I would still like is the gearbox ratios and any other usable data.

Absolutely fantastic mate. Ican get the proper metro 6r4 sound as i know the 6r4 specialists tal motorsport who made colin mcraes white one. here are some sites for you that could help you for pics, info and other bits and bobs.

www.6r4.info
www.metro6r4.com
www.talmotorsport.co.uk
www.xpower-mg.com (go to the images section as there are tons of pics)

I could also (if i could have your permission) do an 8r4, which my friend drives in england, he would let me get the sound and would get a great skin done of it.

I will put up some info for you in abit as i have the orignal sales brocure for the car. I am so gladyou aredoing this car as i am absolutely mad on them :D [/url]

can you please pm me the skin as i can do some old ones like the rothmans, unipart, austin rover (not computervision) and new ones like john prices, tony davies, warren philiskirk. Please please please pm me so you can email me the skin, i will send them back to you when done.

Clubman, clubman, who's talking about Clubman. Of course we want the full spec works engines, with some 460bhp on tap :twisted:

MaartenMLK
26 August 04, 18:50
BTW, when I release the car, I will produce a blanc (or blue for that matter) skin, wich will be easy to convert...

nicky6r4

If your interested in a 6r4 engine you would need at least 20 grand for one. and thats not the best spec engine either. There was a bloke who put a 6r4 engine in a mk5 escort.

Rallyfan
4 September 04, 12:06
There would be no use for the engine for me,maybe for a vacume cleaner only :P

nicky6r4

Hows the beast coming along now? Here is the gear ratioson the works spec 6r4

1st - 3.313
2nd- 2.235
3rd- 1.667
4th- 1.333
5th- 1.115

I got intouch with my mate with the 8r4 (Rover v8 in the back instead of V6) and he said i can record the engine at the relevant revs that i need, from the exhaust and also from the engine :D Already got a load of pics ready to do the skin of it. It will look awesome

For full spec of the car got to metro6r4.com as it has the whole list of it and also some pics of the car. The engines dont blow nowadays. And it was the cambelts coming off which caused alot of the faults. They cant be as bad as some people on here claim as there are loads of drivers using them and beating wrc cars.

Hi guys :wave:

Finnaly I have made physics for the Metro.
It is the same spec as the data listed in this thread. Final works gearing drive wouldnt hurt, but I think that I am not far off.

Made for TT mod so use it combined with it to get the best feel.
TT tires model is still developing so updates will come soon(a bit more grip). I also updated the info for the car, but didnt yet move the driver/Co driver to the correct position.

Hope you like it guys :wave:

BTW: Those austin collors would be great(wheels also). And Maarten-if you still want to get the S4 and R5 into RT for the group B mod-I will gladly make the necesary physics(will have more time now :) )

Apparently, Maarten is doing, or planning to do the Delta S4 & R5 Turbo.
As far as I know,nobody's doing a Toyota Celica TCT. What do you think of that one?

Well if the R5 and the S4 are beeing done, we'll only be missing from the real significant ones the Audi's and Toyota, since we already have the most radical Audi, the Toyota would be a very nice one to add. :up:
