Yes its a rehashed version of an earlier incarnation by the same title/company. The original had poor physics and incredibly no cockpit view, tut tut. This latest version should see improved physics and a cockpit view. I think its an interesting series with some very nice cars and I would have overlooked the physics and bought the first version had it had a cockpit view. I'm sure a lot of others felt the same.

Seen a video of the second opus with cockpit view. Not bad. Hope the physics are good, cause the first one was crap. Waiting to see...

hi all :-) i have the first version of the game on PS3, and found it quite good
once you get past its limitations

the ai is very good imo, plenty fast

aside from the cockpit view and hopefully improved physics, can anyone tell
me if there are new cars/tracks in the next release?

I saw Mercedes.
I looked for the 2010 calendar of the series, and Hockenheim will be a new venue, but I don't know for sure wheter it will be in the game or not.
Here is the entry list 2010:

There's a hands-on over at gamespot for this and SBKX.

Apparently there will be 14 tracks to play in total, the two new ones they mention are Varano and Magione. I never got round to buying the first one, the physics were just way off but I like what they are trying to do in their games, the demo's meant to be out soon so I'll give it a chance.

In fact the demo up on xbox live now!

Had a quick blast. You get to drive on Monza, change driving aids, opponent level and choose wet or dry weather. It seems much more advanced than the previous game. There is now a nice interior view, always good, and 19 cars on track, (I believe I read 16 for multiplayer?). The AI seems reasonable, took me by surprise on a couple of occasions, taking me on the inside before I reaslised it. The physics? somewhere between arcade and sim I guess, need to play a bit more but they seem much better than last year for a start, there's more weight to the cars but the steering is a little sensitive, especially at high speeds, hopefully they'll be settings for this in the full game.

it's an improvement but i'm still not sold, still feels like it's based around a bike engine which it is.
