I got it working on Windows 7 last night and on line so all being well I should be racing on Wednesday. It's been a while and I've been playing Dirt 2 since Christmas so it's going its be a struggle.

I tested the cars and track yesterday and they were great! Hopefully the cars will be revisited in the future.

I got everything up and running fine so I thought. I done a fresh install with the patch and installed Altbierbude auto update as well, I can get into the lobby but cannot join any servers, just says "Game not available. Host may be running an updated or modified game" :thumbdown:

Update

I just tried joining on an old XP install and it worked, I could join the servers. So does this mean that even though I can run GTL on Windows 7 I cant play online because of the nocd patch used?

no I think this prob is down to all .GDB extensions (need to be renamed to .gdb)

someone posted a .bat file to do it ... standby

They made a file to start GTL named GTL_WIN7.CMD (put it in your GTL main folder)
with these 2 lines...

forfiles /s /m *.GDB /c "cmd /c rename @fname.GDB @fname.gdb"
start GTL

Then just double click the file to start your GTL

then if you add a new mod with .GDB names it will rename automatically every time you start :)

Yes we all got disconnected... GUTTED... I was doing very well.. Best qualifiying to date... and then got booted....

That was some GREAT racing!

I was very ecstatic about my fight with von Burki in race2 in chat, and I meant it.
But somehow (I was very tired and my head was rather occupied) I didn't switch names when Burki spun and soon he was replaced by Kimi!
A grey Opel and bright yellow Nissan, not really cars to mix up visually but somehow I kept calling everbody I fought with Burki. LOL
Sorry Kimi, I completely messed up there and didn't give our tremendous fight the credit it deserved. :ohmy: THANKS!
