Hey guys,
Most of us here are more into "hardcore racing sims" and, I presume, cockpit view is a "must"... :uhm:
In DIRT, and originally, many of us seem to prefer the DASHBOARD view (undoubtfully the most realistic default cam in the game), yet that view seems to be too extreme (bit too close to the windscreen and steering-wheel), same thing could be said for the original HEAD-CAM view, positioned too high and to distant from the dirtscreen and steering-wheel.
The objective here was to get something in-between those two, a more "correct" cockpit position as seen in GTR2, GT-Legends, Race'07, NR2003, T.D.U. or even in the upcoming GT5.
...since we don't have the possibility of real-time adjustment of the driver's seat-position in-game as in most of those titles, we are left with the chance of editing/adding internal-cameras, for me then it was a matter of "joining the best of bouth worlds"...! :-P
This is a modification for all the 46 cars featured in DIRT, atempting to recreate the perspective of the driver placed in a racing-car seat (Recaro, etc) as seen in these racing vehicles IRL.
This new camera/view picks-up the "seat-position" parameters of the DASHBOARD view but with more depth (different POV), then mixed with the HEAD-CAM parameters so it uses this last one extra features, such as the left/right head movement support, slightly different reactions to suspension and acceleration/braking (g-forces), as well as the "see-to-mirror" feature (in the cars that support it).
Please note, this modification does not change anything in the original/default content (view/cameras in this case), it simply adds a third -new- internal camera/view for an alternative (more realistic?) interior/cockpit view.
Now here's some screenshots (in 4:3 format) using the Fiat Abarth 131 as an example so that you can see what this is all about, this new "DRIVER-VIEW" camera is positioned between the DASHBOARD and the HEAD-CAM views when cicling through all the vehicle views, so you'll now have three internal (cockpit) views, this new one being the second one:

Check the attached ZIP file to get this little mod and... enjoy it! :)
To install, Extract/Unzip (or Copy/Paste) the files into your DIRT installation directory (default is C:\Codemasters\DiRT) and overwrite all files when prompted.
...done! :-)
NOTE: Nothing in the original/default content will be lost or modified so there's no need for backups or uninstallation notes.
...for those of you using other modified view/camera files PLEASE make a backup of such files before installing this!
