XXXXXXXXThe arch layer must be on top for this to look right, the chrome trim parts need to be unobscured.XXXXXXXX

Sorry I should have mentioned this in the readme.

From experience - follow sharpo's advice, and if you want body coloured wide arches just delete the small black square in the bottom right of the arch layer - don't omit the whole layer.

The only way I have found to do it is to open the .psd with GIMP (free - just Google), then save it again. The new file then opens with PSP.

Hope it works for you.

I will "get the gimp" and see if I can produce a template for use in paint shop.

Even with PSP it is better to work in *.psd (Photoshop) format and then convert to .dds with DDS Converter 2.1. DDS Converter doesn't cope with *.psp files, and I have not found a DDS plug-in for PSP that I like. The other formats cannot cope with multiple layers.

Yes, I also haven't found a DDS-plugin that I liked.
usually they are either carp (not the fish..) or limited...

But I usually work in PSP in 'whatever'format, jsut muck around and then afte you're doen save the work as *.psp ( so you can always undo what you didn't like when seeing the car in-game), and save the rest as a single-layer BMP. And then convert the BMP with DDS converter.

However, Sharpo has saved me on this one (thanx mate), he sent instructions that I do not really understand, but I got a brain-transpalnt for X-mas so after a few reads should start to make sense... I'll try a few more!
