can anyone give me a tip for basic setup.
The rear side of the Healey is always quicker than the front side:(
thank you and a nice sunday

don't know if there is any Healey-Setup available, but try a look in the "online-database" for downloding some setups.
You find this button in your GTL "garage/Werkstatt" screen right side down.
I have tried Healey few times. Quite slow car in its class but nice handling. I predict that we will have some smooth rear end sliding in the first laps and greater slides and spinning in the last laps while rear tires get worn out.
Michael try setting up rear end loose for greater grip. (eg sway bars and springs lowest at rear). Optionally stiffen front end a bit. (but remember stiffening springs/shocks ect usually eats grip)
I just checked the Hotlaps section. Joel has uploaded time 1:37.061 for Austin Healey at Dijon GP. So I think anything below 1:40 will be decent aim for practice. :)
7 January 08, 15:15
Just for intrest, at last nights race Joel did 1.34.8 in qually. Best race lap, Frex in 1.35.9.
Michael, try the online setups, Spa folder, Healey setup by Alf (if I remember correctly) with a few small tweeks it got me a 1.35.8 in qually last night. 3 seconds better than with my previous Healey setup!
7 January 08, 15:28
1:36.3 with the default setup, and I reckon I could beat that on Wednesday night.
7 January 08, 18:35
I saw a big Mogget last night at Dijon race. Great driving and great times. He overtook me easily, maybe driving with only 1 hand. :)
I couldn't do better than 1.37.703 in race with 1 stop&go...bad race.
I hope on wensday.
7 January 08, 19:18
Thank you, Maurizio. I do like driving the Healey, but you have the edge in an Alfa ;)
7 January 08, 21:04
Thank you all verry much for your tips.:thanks:
With that help I hope to be quicker than a moving chicane.
I will not be in your eyes wide open if you look at the curve goes across and I stand on the racetrack!:OMG:
1:34 min WOW!
Is it possibel to download the replay of that race?
15 laps shouldn't cause any tyre trouble ;)
I don't have my setup to hand - it took me to a low 1:35, but very roughly
I had -30 toe out at the front
Max front neg camber
Diff was 30 coast/50 power (I am pretty sure) - more than 50 power side was quite hard to control - it may actually feel better with 30 or 40. 30 coast side actually helped stability on the brakes and corner entry.
I reduced castor to about 2.5 deg - which seemed to help reduce tank-slappers
Front ride height I upped a click or two - I think front dampers were at 3/4 rears at 3/3
Longest gears (these are faster, but you need very smooth lines or you lose too much momentum on the slow parts of the track). Mid gears seemed easier to get a time out of - maybe practice on mid, then switch to long when you learn the car.
For me the car seemed to like slightly sideways on corner entry to flatten the line and get the power down as early as possible (needs quite delicate throttle on T1 ;)).
To get a lap time out of Dijon - find the biggest kerb cuts you can get away with and a really good exit from the last corner plus a very good entry to T1 to avoid losing momentum correcting understeer or big wide slides..........
I thought this car & track combo was blooming ACE!
Have a great race

I'm not a big fan of this "biggest kerb cuts you can get away with" lark. I try to keep to the track as much as possible, and I never deliberately get both sets of wheels on the wrong side of the kerb (it happens accidentally sometimes when I turn into a corner slightly too early).
You are right 1:40 is very slow time for this car/track. I have found this track a bit boring to drive. Although there is two difficult corners where you might loose the rear end. Also have to cut few to their limits to be fast.
But we'll see, it might be very exiting when we all get there together after all :).
I did 1:36 at my best with 30 laps offline practice last evening:
- I had diffs: 30/30.
- Toe out -0.10 (I tried -0.20 which migh be faster in qually. -0.3 felt a bit difficult to control)
- Castor 2.8
- Max front camber
- Dampers all at 2 (I didn't try anything else yet)
- Springs all at 1
- Only tried middle gear ratios
- Increased front ride hight 1cm and 2cm. 1cm increase might be faster (=qually setup). 2cm -> slides more difficult to control.

I'm looking forward to tonight's races. I was very competitive on Sunday, and I'm hoping for a better slice of luck this time ;)

9 January 08, 18:26
How about that password?.....wnr didn't work, and neither did tba :p
9 January 08, 18:33
In my opinion the server is not ready yet. In fact, there are still 30 laps. You can go in with "nogrip" psw. But if the server is not ready, what time is programmed the race?
9 January 08, 18:44
Quali is set for 2100 cet. Wanted to practise for about an hour or so. Then all the guys that raced on Sunday come with two minutes to go and kick my seat meat by 3 seconds or more a lap, like every Wednesday. Thanx for the pw....see ya at the track.
Server is now reset to 'wnr'.
9 January 08, 20:39
Race 1 start - all set up - going to track & poof!, I'm hanging somewhere between track sections in midair, position marked as -1/26 ?!? :OMG: Got even a stop/go for false start :P. Nothing else to do but hit ESC... :(
9 January 08, 20:59
for me too :banghead: - was downloading the setups and GTL freeze...
after the pc restart race was running...:(
Hope to see you in race 2.
9 January 08, 21:50
My humblest apologies to all I bumped into on lap 1 :o! This really was a miserable effort from me :(.
Still, 23e Heure did IMHO wrong when he didn't wait for me after he bumped into my rear and caused me to spin .
Willing to forget this nights endeavours ASAP :o.
9 January 08, 22:02
:o Zieman, my humble apologies. I had loads of momentum and then was late on the brakes. Poor show.
9 January 08, 22:24
Race 1: can´t remember anything.....
Race 2: waiting 4 epic battle between Joel, frex&myself, but both spunned 2nd lap maybe after that just control the race. It was fun. lol
p.s. this must be most stupid race report eva.
9 January 08, 22:33
great race as ever. my first ever podium. :saywhat:
first race, i got a good start and couldnt belive that i was in 4th or so. managed to get to 3rd but i knew there was no way i was passin the guys in front. joel was in 1st cant remember who was 2nd but they never made any mistakes and slowly pulled away in to the distance. then i noticed watty catchin lap by lap. a few more and he would of passed. was just glad to see the end. stressin all the way.
race 2- couldnt cope with the stress again so didnt even start

Race 1: Had some probs getting my setup right in time cause something was messed up with my setup data so that I lost it . I started somehow confused (& less warmed up as usual)then.Just one exciting moment at the start when a little carambolage occurred after turn 1. I just kept my car on the track, doing a 15 lap practice without ambition.
Race 2 : The car went smooth but far from perfect and Dijon is tricky.. :)
Well, in the end I finished close behind Mogget but actually today was not my day... I just "did my job" in a consistent manner and had been in luck to finish 6th
10 January 08, 10:23
I qualified 9th on the grid in the first race with a PB of 1:36.162. I tapped the guy in front at Turn 1 (which I now know to have been Kimi), when he braked slightly earlier than I was expecting (probably due to some guy ahead of him). I was very careful through that first corner, and was passed by at least one other car as a result. Nevertheless, I settled down quickly, and rapidly moved up to 4th place. I managed to hold off the guys behind for quite some time, but then I noticed a red and white Healey slowly closing the gap. I assumed that it was Kimi out for revenge :), but when I was eventually passed at the end of the S/F straight, it turned out to be Watty. I just about kept pace with him for two or three laps, but he slowly started to pull away towards the end. I knew that the black and white Healey that I could see in my rear view mirror was Geoffers, so I knew that I had to keep driving consistently good laps. Fortunately, I did so, and I finished the race in a very satisfying 5th place.
The second race was a bit of a mixed bag for me. I assume that my concentration level wasn't quite as good as in the first race, because I struggled to find any rhythm. I started 7th on the grid (it took me several laps to post a decent time), and I managed to clear Turn 1 at the rear of a 7 car leading pack (right behind Maurizio, who had made a better start, and overtaken me on the S/F straight). I settled down behind him, and started thinking about when I would get an opportunity to get past. Unfortunately, I made an error at the final corner after a couple of laps, and nearly spun off (I scraped the right side barrier). That resulted in me losing touch with the leaders, and not getting a decent amount of speed up for the long straight. That in turn allowed Zieman to catch me at Turn 1. I braked at my usual location, and felt a light tap from behind. That caused me to run wide, and I slid into the sand :(
Zieman kindly waited for me, but another four cars passed both of us at the same time, and I was suddenly down in 11th position. At the time, I wasn't too bothered. After all, I'd had a decent result in the first race, and this gave me an opportunity to try some overtaking manouevres. I caught those four cars pretty quickly, and it didn't take me long to get past all of them (probably because they were more concerned with each other than the guy behind).
I started to pull away from them after that, and then caught sight of Maurizio far ahead. I was determined to catch him before the end of the race, but I started driving very erratically at that point. Maybe I was pushing too hard ? I kept lapping around the 1:37.5 mark, which was frustrating, because I had been nearly a second quicker in the first race. That resulted in me struggling to catch up with Maurizio. Some time later, it seems that Daz made a slight error at that downhill left turn around the back of the track, and Maurizio had passed him. I wasn't close enough to either of them at that point, and Daz eventually passed Maurizio again.
I noticed a red and white Healey in my rear view mirror at times, and presumably that was seppukusan. He never got near enough to threaten me, but the fact that he was visible at all was sufficient to add that extra little bit of pressure ;)
I had resigned myself to the fact that I was going to finish in 7th place when I approached that downhill left turn on what turned out to be the final lap. When I came over the brow of the hill, I was confronted by Si33's car to the left of the track, and Maurizio struggling to regain control of his own car that was sliding off to the right. That slide was bringing his car back towards the track, almost directly across from Si33. Thankfully, I got the good piece of luck that had eluded me on Sunday. I swerved between both cars, just as Maurizio was struggling back onto the track !
I haven't checked the replay yet, but it looked pretty close from the cockpit view  That slice of good fortune enabled me to finish in 5th place again, which was somewhat flattering considering the erratic nature of my driving :)

Great first race but disaster in the second race for me.
Got a fair start in race 1 & after a few in front took to the scenery I found myself in 5th behind Mogget with Watty right behind. Tried to hold Watty off but he got past at T1 at the second attempt & set off after Mogget. I tried to stay with him but he was too fast & soon a recovering Frex was breathing down my neck . He was clearly faster than me everywhere except under braking for T1 & despite getting alongside me on the straight more than once I somehow managed to hang on to my position. With a couple of laps left Frex made a big mistake & dropped back behind Kimi leaving me with a fairly comfortable 6th place:up:.
Race 2, I was higher up the grid & was in the leading pack on lap 1 but got the exit of the uphill hairpin wrong & spun nose first into the barriers. I waited for the pack to go past to rejoin but the car didn't move. Wait a minute the engine's not running:cry:. Game over.
Congrats to all podium peeps, c ya all next week.

Yesterday I was talking with Spyder and Matra via TS while racing (what we usually do at our GVRC Sunday Races). Due to my lowered ambitions it became a coffee party :D..and till I realized that you 're about to pull away it was too late to attack - but anyway you had the same pace like me so I didn't took the risk to increase the pressure too much (and to spin for example)...
Similar story for me in both races - went well in qually, then made an error in the early laps and lost several places
Still had some great racing though, specially with kimi and Geoffers in race 1.
...despite getting alongside me on the straight more than once I somehow managed to hang on to my position.
Am sure i was actually ahead several times, but still you managed to fend me off Geoffers - one lap in particular i thought i had you done good and proper, and still you came out of T1 ahead! Great driving, and made for a fun battle :)
Was trying hard to catch kimi in race 2, but he was very quick and i wouldn't have been able to have got past anyway.
Congrats to kimi and Joel. See you next week.

My second race here was much more thrilling than the first last week.
I never saw so much action in a first round.
In every corner I saw smoke and cars leaving the track.
It was my purpose to finish the race without a crash and so I drove carefully.
So after onelap I saw me 12 positions more in front!
All that fast driver behind me that was a exciting race.
But I was to slow and 2 or 3 could pass me in the next rounds.
Suddenly I get a kick from behind an loose control of the car.
The driver said sorry and I think that could happen in such a race.
But I was sad a little bit becouse I find me again at the end of the field.
2. race was verry disapointed because I missed the start and was disqualif.
I did not find a message on the screen that the race will start!
However it was a great race with verry much fun.
Congrats to the alien-fast drivers on the podium
PS: sorry for my bad english
