View Full Version : New pots?

Anyone now where to find potentionmeters for the Momo Force (I think it's called Force, but I always mix them up - it's the red one with a leather wheel)?
My pedals have been acting strangely lately, and upon installing RBR I noticed the break is always slightly applied (was a pain to setup the controller when it automatically chose the break pedal for anything I highlighted :p ). I tried to pin this one down before in RT, but it's little enough for the break lights to not come on. Still, after opening up the pedals unit and reseating the pedals things are better for a few days. I recon it's time for new pots, unless you have any other tip.

Have you tried increasing the dead zone?

I think the MOMO is self calibrating (i.e. does it automatically every time you use it). There are no manual calibrating utils for it, as far as I know. Some games lets you do it within the game though, but nor RT or RBR.
It's annoying, because the error is small enough to not be seen in the control panel if I start looking there before I use the wheel. But after some driving, the break-o-meter shows the breaks are on although I dont touch the pedal
Anyone stand alone pedals? Any recommendations?

I had exactly the problem with RT and my Thrustmaster wheel. The brakes stuck on a little bit (you could see it in the windows config' also on replays/following camera).
Thrustmaster now have a utility called thrustmapper, which has fixed it - basically I think it is all in the deadzone adjustment.
BTW - cleaning the pots did not help.

I think I've found a temporary solution to trick the automatic calibration (MOMO Force has firmware that automatically calibrates the wheel and pedals).
Unplugging the wheel (USB) and restarting. When the wheel is attached again old calibration values are erazed. The trick is to keep the break pedal slightly pressed down when plugging in the USB connector, as the value read from the pot in that instance is what is kept as a zero value (=no break applied).
Now I have to see if this solution works in the long run.
