GTL version of the #15 289 Cobra ( CSX2128 ) driven by Dan Gurney & Phil Hill, in the 1963 Sebring 12 hours. reference was taken from pics of the restored car
This car was also featured on the cover of an early '60's album by The Rip Chords, called "hey little cobra". see LP pic below
-------------
The 1963 Sebring Cobras were the first to use rack and pin-ion steering and the 289 engine. Recognizable by its unique yellow striping and a cut-away driver's door, CSX 2128 raced as a Shelby American factory team car from 3/63-7/63.
Sold to Coventry Motors, the cars success during the remainder of the 1963 season prompted Shelby American to buy it back for the 1964 season. Campaigned under three different configurations, this workhorse was among the most successful of the factory team Cobras.
thanks to Balko70 for the idea to make a standalone, plus the reference pics & information about the car
