I haven't been throught all of the tracks yet, so I don't know. I am wondering if there are any that run in the night. I do so enjoy using the headlights in a dark environment. (I am just dreaming of Sweden in the night.....aaaargh, beautiful. )

No night races, like in real WRC

I was gonna ask you one question Florenzo. Since you are messing around with the track files, etc.... Im wondering if its possible to set the time when the race takes place?? For example, if the rally starts at 10:00PM it basically would be at night.

in tracksettings.ini, there are many parameters to define ambient light, characters lighting, sun position, diffuse light, sky color, fog color, shadow color...

With these params it is possible to make something very dark, but I am not sure the car lights are working.

I think that's what the WRC misses :( ,i would be much more interesting for the drivers, and spectators ,if there also would be some night stages

Btw,the best night stages were in Wales,it was so dark in the forest road that you couldn't even see an animal sitting/s**ting on the road... :P

It's possible to reduce very easily sun and make it dark
in TrackSettings.ini, take for example the track [20N crisp clear] (it's britain first track with a favorable weather)
and reduce sun power....by default it's 98....set it to 20 and it looks like evening...10 and it's night

you also have to reduce car lighting, and character lighting...

the problem is that car lights don't do anything...

Oh, that's a pity, I was SOOOO hoping to do a night stage. But still, I love RBR, and my spirits won't be dampened by the news.

Well, stages run in the afternoon can be very dark as the sun goes down early up here in the north in the winter. So the swedish rally (and the artic rally Finland in RBR) could have "night" stages in real life

Exactly. Actually, the Finnish rally has totally unrealistic lighting with regards to the time of day it's supposed to be in the game. In Lapland, the sun barely comes out at all in the winter, but these stages are very bright. So -- even though the stages aren't run at night IRL, they are very very dark.

Having a look at the current picture of the week at blackhole makes me a bit puzzled... actually it looks as if front lights do ligthening the environment. A fake?

Damn! My next question would have been, why my RBR don't show these awesomely nice reflections on water slops like in the previous pic-of-week. But I think I can now answer that on my own...

I don't know if anybody has seen a night stages, but for spectators/photographers there really isn't that much to see. The cars run with their lightpods on and all spotlights on, when they drive anywhere near your direction, you are blinded, en when they turn away from you, all you see is the glare of the rear lights and maybe a flame from the exhaust.
As a spectator I'm glad I don't have to strawl out in some muddy forrest to get to see some lights passing by.
But hey, who am I :D
