HI guys and girls,
Bit of a problem. I recently reinstalled F1C 99-02 and downloaded and installed the Prototype C all in one package. Everytime I go to start Prototype C for some reason it starts up the normal 99-02 F1 part of the game, not the Prototype C part. I'm pretty damn confused as to why it is doing this. If anyone can help me that would be great.
Did you use the PTC launcher to create a new player and PrototypeC.ini.

I ran into the same problem. Run the Launcher as administrator. That should help. Does anybody know of another place to dl the all in one patch. I tried racing simulations and virtua s website. And my antivirus pegs them as trojans.

I turned off my anti virus and installed it but here is one for you guys. Re-installed win7. Install f1-c, install full ptc. plus patch. Go in play with all the game settings. Exit the game. I get the f1c has crashed screen. Go back into ptc. And all of the settings reverted back to what they were. What happened?

This is bug, Windows7 and F1Challenge ctd on exit, I never found a solution.
Has nothing to do with UAC or admin, all F1C files /saves are contained within its directory.
It is not just that, you have the config.ini errors in 64bit, bad fps and visual quality with later DX video cards and unexpected random compatibility crashes in various mods. Plus widescreen looks really off.
Had a backed up folder ( all best mods/trackks )running on a XP+3500 singlecore /8600GT / WindowsXP-SP2 @ 1280x960 CRT just a few days ago.
Ran great, looked better, smoother, better fps, proper config.ini, no ctd or blackscreens. ;-)

Weird. It worked before I reinstalled windows. Oh well. Hopefully ptc gets released for r-factor so i don't have to keep screwing with this.

I seemed to have fixed it by running it in compatibility for win98 and running it as an administrator.

Hears a good one. Now I can't see any pit crew guys. When I pit or leave the box to go onto the track. Pit Animations set to full.

Some mods you need to lower pitcrew detail or you can get glitches
even ctd.

So no more dropouts ? I thought I tried that more then a few times too.

I figured it out. I guess that all in one patch needs installed for the crews to show up. Its all good now.

Saw this thread and decided to reinstall it, but ive run into an issue i dont remember ever having....Ive done all the steps to get it to run (i think), and when i click Start in the ProtoC launcher, the launcher disappears, and nothing more happens...No processes, no nothing. Anybody know what ive done wrong?
Edit: and now the regular game wont start, so ive clearly messed something up. Or is this an issue with Vista 64?

Scratch that, tried running it in non-compatibility mode and it worked like a charm.
I had a short race around the Glen, it was fantastic, but when i pressed the arrow to go back to the menu after the results page, it crashed....Otherwise all is good so far.

I cant remember Vista bugs are same as W7 sorry.
As I moved to using W7 more I got tired of running dual folders/ HDDs
or reconfiguring everytime I changed a OS.
I think I resigned myself to going back to my old ways...
Setting up another smaller XP hardrive with GPL, Nascar, EA, etc. and hook up via Gigabyte external sata port when I feel like it so to keep it totally seperate from W7 and later sims like I used to.
For mine the above titles run better in XP. :)

Okay, new problem, certain cars ctd in the spinner, but if i start the game that car works fine in the spinner, but it won't load on track....Now im remembering the frustrating parts of F1c

Yeah lots of little bugs pop up unexpected.
In XP its 101% PTC included , all I need is a 80-120GB HDD for all XP stuff.

Ahh...now i remember my love/hate relationship with this game...I added the trace line to see if i could pinpoint the issue, load up the game, and now all the sudden it works....lol

Only thing I dont like booting XP and W7/Vista hardrives together, I found a few little bugs with cleaning tools, so to run F1C and older stuff I shutdown, disconnect W7 drive, connect XP drive and reboot.
Not keen on that  I end up with 2 archives of downloaded stuff getting mixed and matched and 2 OS with driver apps to archive and update.
Still is better then leaving all on one hardrive and changing images or using W7 exclusively for mine. :)

Do you have any idea what is wrong with this trace? Happens with certain cars as soon as i try and load the track, usually the tire thing isn't an issue iirc...could that be causing it though?

I never used traces tell the truth.
Used to run a test folder anything that ctd went but I cant remember
limiting any of my fav mods in XP everything just ran.
Worst problems with online mismatch then anything once converted circuits and mods really took off.
Not so much the mismatch just the endless stream of people you had to msn and give update/ directions got tedious.

Nothing wrong with the game, it is an compatibility problem, not that much to do about
