...and for those of us who haven't got the benefit of access rights? ...What is the opinion of the game(s)?

Put another way, what would I have to do to get access to the videos section? :)

As for GT4, it seems to be very good. The screenshots of the Nurburgring alone make it seem worthwhile, let alone the massive car selection. I have no idea about the physics 'though

well.. I think they will be good, GT2/3 were ok and the demo I have been playing for GT4 is better, so I think its worth getting

as for access to the video section I'm thinking to change the rules for that :P

in case that you didn't see it-here is a link to Gran Turismo 4 trailer

Trailer looks good, in special the huge variety of cars and tracks, but the GT 4 Prologue, which is already available, got awful critics from the customers.

Trailer looks good, in special the huge variety of cars and tracks,. i like that too ,but it brings me to the conclusion that physics is a bit generalised becouse that much cars...
compare it to RBR or GPL...

...but the GT 4 Prologue, which is already available, got awful critics from the customers.

maybe they don't like it becouse there is no cocpit view in GT4 ?-are there a cocpit view,i can't figure it out...

they have so big list of cars (http://forum.rscnet.org/showthread.php?t=176993) so who would make realistic cocpit for all of them

maybe they should make some generic cocpit like in tha crappy Toca Race driver
i can't imagine driving while sitting on the bumper ...

btw-i don't like the "screen"-too much things on the screen and i don't need the map of the track on it-it remindes me on that crappy NFS ....

The critics from those customers are complaining that there are only two modes, driving school and one arcade-mode, and that the price is much too high, although amazon reduced it 25%. The physics are not mentioned so much, I guess because most of the users want to have an arcade-racer.
Most of them were angry because they bought a teaser and payed for a game.
I'm afraid that the physics cannot be as good as in RT or RBR because of that mass of different car-types as well.

I think that GT4 is good relaxation game, only sad it don't have dash view...

It's not ''real driving simulation'' as they say, it just looks realistic in replay. If you wan't simulation only, don't buy this game, but if you wan't good relaxation after played those hard simulation games ;) , buy this.

then I think you should try the BMW nurburgring demo with a wheel ;)

I'm not going to defend gt4 prologue because it is a half assed thing to appease the fans who have waited a long time for GT4.. for sure the final game will be better :)

oh and if you play with a pad please dont comment on the physics, how the heck anyone thinks they can relate 'driving' a car with a pad to real life I will never understand

That's an advice I have not expected from you, Pepe2, I supposed you use Ford Racing II for this, nice for relaxation (or to make a nightshift on duty more interesting :) ) as well. And only Ford on the road, grafix nice with good equipment.

Hehe, I have Ford Racing 2 to relaxation. ;)

I buy simulations only to pc, ps2 is just a little toy. :)

Oh no, no pad please, I've got a rumblepad and tested it just for fun, was absolutely awful, if I remember correct, the pad flew out of my hands before the car hit the wall. I use a Saitek R440, nice stuff for less money, you can buy it for 69.90€ and I think you have to pay really a lot more if you want a better one. Performance and FF-effects are really good. The only problem, but at least none is, that the wheel is not build for excessing rally use by mature man, but we have 2 years warranty, so I go to the media market every 6 - 8 months  and change that with the defective switch (or something like that) with a new one. Last time I was extremely lucky, my wheel was offered as a bargain-sellout ... so I left the place with brand-new new model plus 20 bucks in my wallet (not really because I bought a game for this little extra bonus). And I don't feel bad doing so.
That's the effect to the factories when they promise you high quality and give that warranty. May be one time I can catch a cheap, used ECCI, but to buy a new one seems a little bit too much, I can get a used car for it :OMG:

you know that i'm talking about a mouse...

Stumbeled upon some stunning screenshots here (http://delobbo.com/gran_turismo_4_1.html)

I had no idea that rallying is also in it

Have you seen the S4 and the alpine? You have to wait a while for it to load all the shots and than just browse down. The alp is on page 2.

Damn-I belive that I will have to get me a PS2 and a PS2 wheel

Dan how good do the cars feel? is it GPL level or RBR level or ?
After seeing this I am totaly stunned and especially after seeing the rally cars I would love to have a drive

Just imagine how hard it was to get the licenses for the cars and liveries.....

Roger, are you calling me a spammer? Why? You cheeky sod! :D

...and those graphics are bloody amazing! Plus I read that, "the final car count to top 650"- that's nuts! :OMG: VERY impressive. Just wonder what the physics will be like. Well, I don't have a PS2 anyway, so it doesn't really concern me. :(

Would have been nice though. Cheerio Imagine.

I will buy GT4 for 100%. The Nordschleife looks so fantastic.

The GT2 physics were good, GT3 also, but the car-driving was very boring, you could keep the car under your control just everytime, it was impossible to crash with the car.

The cars:
More than 500 :OMG: , that's really much. But when you think about it, it aren't really that much. Do you know how many Skylines, Supras, Civics and other Japanese cars are in it. I think it will have 15 Skylines :( . Without those modern-japanese-double cars you will not get 300. But 300 are really fantastic, too.
I love to see, that there will be some classic ones, like in GT2 were. I really would like to race with the old Alfa Romeo GTA over the Nordschleife. But against which cars? No Mini, BMW 1800TI, BMW 02er Ford Escort and no Cortina to race against. That's bad, think, you will have not that much fun to race against totally other cars. But it's nice to see that Alpine and GTA are in the game :) .

Hope the physics will get better, cars harder to drive and it will be a superb game

 then the physics arent good :D specially GT1 & GT2 :D

compare it now to RBR-it is not easy to stay on the road...

The graphics are beautiful, but I have the GTR demo, and I think that is just as pretty, plus it has realistic cockpit and great physics. I will definitely get GTR.

And it will be moddable, like the F1 games that it was originally based on. :D

I will buy GT4 for sure. It's a shame there is so much same models like BlaBla said. But still there is some great 70's japan cars and group-b cars

I believe it's not a simulation but it will be very nice to drive, i just hope that Momo Force works with it(i heard it didn't work with the prologue :( ).
