Hi all.:-) New here and thought I'd take a look around here since I bought Race 07 and Race On.

From what I'm reading here and looking at the lack of mods I think I wasted my money.

Not even an AI or Driveable Mustang.

The Caddy and Charger and a couple of others are worthless imho.

We must have some skilled modders here that can fix a few things huh ?

On a different website there's modders there that can turn a WWII U-Boat into a Nuke boat.

I'm sure someone here can turn a Caddy or Charger into a Mustang.

I think the GTR Evo mods work with Race On. There is a Mustang mod for GTR Evo

My thought would be - research the cars included in the game before you buy it :)

NFS Shift includes Mustangs and though i like it, its not everyone's cup of tea.

99.9% of mods that work in Race07 and GTR Evo or STCC will work in Race On, and if they don't it's quite easy to fix them so that they do.

And if you look around the web and here there are a number of very good mods available, the Mustang mod as David has already mentioned, the Ford GT GT3 by someone whose name I forget (:P), the GTL-Evo mod by Mojo (although that could be a bit hard to obtain these days for reasons best not mentioned here), the GTR2-Evo mod by Petrs and co., then there's the Porsche Carrera Cup for Evo and the Audi R8 Widebody by ZeZeZoom, and there's the Porsche 935 by Majoteam and that person whose name who I've forgotten. (:P).

There's also a couple of open wheel mods for Evo as well.

Whilst it's true to say that Race07/Evo/STCC/Race On doesn't have the number of mods that are available for rFactor, GTL or GTR2 it still has some very good mods available, if you look around and read.

The reason behind it not having so many mods I believe is that the guys who mod for the SimBin/ISI titles just don't really like the Race07 platform due to the nature of the way SimBin locked it down and removed a whole load of options.

But I'm sure there are other reasons as well.

But yeah have a deeper look around, you'll find some gold. ;)

Yeah well there is a lot of politics involved. Most mods for the Race series are conversions of existing mods, and many modders simply won't give permissions for mods to be converted, otherwise I'd be able to release a number of mods I was working on, one being the Holy Grail of the Race series a Le Mans 2009 mod comprising all the cars from the 2009 Le Mans 24hr.

It is always the way, either modders drift away from the scene and are no longer contactable or just plain will not give permissions for whatever personal reasons they have.

And their wishes have to be respected.

One of the reasons I feel they don't give permissions is because people keep on converting their work without permissions and then release it, usually in a very sub-standard mod.

Thus making it harder for legitimate converters/modders such as myself to get permissions to convert/release stuff.

For that there is only one group of people to blame - the "I want, I want"'s

true so if someone was to convert something without permission would they be taken to court ? Just wondering. I was thinking of buying GTR2 not sure yet.

No modder has taken it that far yet as far as I know.

Personally if I created a 3d model and someone converted it to another platform and released it to the public without my permission then I am sure I'd have a very good case for taking that person to court over IP theft.

Whether I would do that is another matter.

Personally I don't buy any game based on the mods available for it, I buy a game because I like it. ;)

Thx all. :-) I appreciate all the info you've all given me. I don't want to come bargeing in here and break any rules.

I thought Race On and Race 07 were the latest stuff. My mistake.

I will get GTR-Evo. I have GTR2. Have had it for a couple of years at least.

I like the Formula racing in RO but, the muscle car part leaves alot to be desired.

I was kinda hopeing for a late 60's\70's Trans Am experience.

Well I'll checkout the R07 mods and thx again for all your input.
