Hi guys.. how can i get rid of the annoying tree reflection that shows up on the nose of my KS2 whie driving on the add on tracks?

change the Cube/ emap reflector, at least thats what it is in RF, gtr etc....
there is a plain one around that looks fantastic.. but you need 3d simed to do it ( or max etc ). or rename one to the same shader name and drop it in the car folder.......

These emaps are what I use for GTR2 and Rfactor.
I am sure they are not simbins and were made by someone from the community. I am sorry as I cannot remember who.... But they do look good......
I also really hated the trees on the bonnet.... it was cool in f1 challenge..
Hope they work ok in Netkar... :thumbup:

Thanks legendsatlunch :thumbup:, but (excuse my ignorance ...) what are we supposing to do with those files, I dont find them in the car's textures folder :?:

thank you legendsatlunch, i also got the files but dont know what to do ...

i noticed the tracks i downloaded have their own files for the sky but i didnt want to over write the originals.. files are called sky.tga, sky_001.png and also there is a file called skybox.ase and another one called skybox.nko ...... any help is welcome...


(should i replace the .ase or .nko files with your .dds??)

you need to find the emaps for the car reflections they could be anything.... dds, tga, etc.. I don't have this game so don't really know, do some searching on car building and you should find the answer....
in RF and GTR these files are in a shared archive for the game. ie in RF it's cmaps.mas.
so maybe something similar....

You need to replace the cube.dds in the \nkpro12\texture folder with one of the .dds files found in the emap attachement by legendsatlunch. Thanks for providing these files, the tree reflection was more than annoying :-)

YESSSSS!!!

thanks so much guys.. i used the "glass" emap and now i get a very subtle but nice reflection of the sky and the freaking fake plastic tree is gone! now this game is 100% enjoyable! thanks again

Didn't NKP have real-time reflections previously? I could have sworn that, at least prior to 1.0.3, there were real time reflections on the cars. I could be wrong though.

That tree was starting to bug me too. If you aren't going to have real-time reflections, it's definitely a bad idea to have obviously recognizable objects in the cube map.

Hey guys... sorry to ressurect this old thread. I just bought NKP, and found this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQWm50NuZho
The video is from may/2010. You can clearly see it has real time reflections. What version was that? Can we have it again too?

Going by the date (Dec' 2010) that would be 1.2.
