Fanatec Porsche 911 GT2 Wheel + Clubsport Pedals

So I finally got my new steering wheel from the shop.

Looks really good as you probably guess it by the name looks like Porsche 911 GT2 wheel. :laugh:

It has settings that you can change from little digital screen it has.

Clubsport pedals can imitate ABS and pedals are made from METAL.

But there is few minus things in it
1. Attachment system feels little fragile few times I have feared that I could accidentally broke it.
2. Shift flaps you strangely have to screw to two buttons that are behind the wheel witch make them feel unreal.
3. You have to BUY the wheel and pedals separately

few the best things are:
1. it has support not only PC/PS3 but XBOX 360 as well.
2. You can connect Logitechs G-series stick sifter and pedal to it.

It's not that fragile, but it's not rock-solid either unfortunately. You'll have to try and not hang on to the wheel or pull it, only turn it ;)
Save some more money and order the ClubSport Table Clamp (http://www.fanatec.de/html/index.php?id=292&lang=en).
You could also drill holes in your desk and screw the wheel to the desk :)

Not sure why that makes it unreal, and it allows to mount various paddles like the Standard, aluminium ClubSport and carbon ClubSport paddles.

Due to the supply not keeping up with the demand, they had to stop offering ClubSport packages (wheel + pedals) for now like they did some time ago. As soon as they have sufficient stock, those packages will be sold again :)

Yep I notice that probably change them someday, but still I like if flaps are like in my old wheel, firm. Logitech Momo racing FFB wheel. ;-) :-D

Just to let other people to know if they have G-series pedal but not steering wheel due to brake down or else. :rolleyes:

Fanatec website states that the brake pedal on the Clubsport set vibrate to signal locking. Is that helpful or an ineffective gimmick? (please only respond if you have actual experience with this feature)

It doesn't work.
Only rFactor has a plug-in to make it vibrate when the wheels lock, but that plug-in only gave me trouble.

The brake gives more then enough feedback.

That's not strictly true - the pedals will vibrate if you push right down - regardless of game.

The FFB on the CSP is really week. I don't even notice it esp when the Buttkicker is going. I only really feel the ABS FFB in the test app for the FANTAEC CSP, even that is nothing to get excited about....

The FFB on the brake pedal works on all games but only if the CSP are connected to the wheel and not through USB. It will vibrate at a certain position of the brake pedal that is user-adjustable, so it is not really linked to game telemetry but only to the position of the brake pedal.

Only with rFactor and connected through USB the brake FFB is linked to telemetry and the wheel actually locking in the game.

I guess it's just user preference. It's one of the (few) things I think fanatec have just right.


Although saying that, it's backwards isn't it. On most cars the brake will actually have LESS feel when the wheels lock - and you'll slide along. Still, it's a nice warning.

I think it's officially called ABS, and then it's rather true to life. When the ABS on my car kicks in, it's like a heavy leg massage :)

My Red Momo may be about to give up the ghost (the wheel wriggles a bit now and I can hear a part rattling around inside when I shake it), so this seems to be my best alternative vs. the G27 and the Thrustmaster (as I have some Act Labs pedals which I like), but I am worried about slow delivery and out-of-stock delays (I won't get the extra shifters for the moment at least)-so what's the latest scoop on that?

I'm gonna have to work my butt off this summer so I can buy this wheel :ohmy: with at least the other pedals, but if I gain enough I'll buy the clubsport pedals, after this we are going to build a small chassis with a spare racing chair we have so we can enjoy better FM3 and GTR2 :thumbup: One big reason we need the wheel is because my dad can't seem to get the hang of the controller and he's the experienced racing driver in my house.

If I manage to get my hands on the wheel we'll make the chair chassis and if it turns out fine we might be able to sell the chair chassis actually being cheaper than many out there. :thumbup:

The pedals are the most important piece of the set. I got CSP's for my birthday and it's had a noticeable effect on lap times. The load cell brake just cannot be beat. I use it with my G25 wheel and it's an awesome combo. I may go for GT3 wheel next year (I don't play on a console at all) but this G25 is working great.

Things such as the G25 pedals not working with the wheel, over-heating of the wheel, the wheel 'dying' after only a few hours play, that you are not supposed to use the wheel for more than an hour at a time, '888' error messages, ignoring of customer emails by Fanatec etc, etc, etc.

There are so many of these stories that I am reluctant to spend over £200 on a new wheel if it's going to lead to such problems - not to mention the fact that people seem to have to wait for months for it to be delivered.

Almost everything written here is true. I have, PWTS+CSP and both products have defects. Support from Fanatec is far from perfect. One man is helpful Redi. But he may provide assistance only as of the theoretical.
If I have to advise, buy T500RS much better. Or G27 supposedly less technical problems. Trustmaster support is first class, sent me a new steering wheel one week after notification of the problem.

I'm curious about what is so great with the thrustmaster wheel? I'm sure its solid but it doesn't even have a load cell brake. I've see reviews and I can't for the life of me figure out why its so expensive? Does anyone own them and can explain?
