CAR CHOICE:

You must stick with the same car for the season, you can make a change after the first race then that’s it. If you do change your car for the second race, you will forfeit any points gained in the first race. (Only applicable in multiple marque seasons)

POINTS:

I would like to encourage people to finish the race, so points will be awarded to all finishers. Starting at 56 points and decreasing by 2.

Points will be awarded according to the final placing’s on Autosim Analyser.

Plus:

1 Extra point for Pole

1 Extra point for Fastest Lap

1 Extra point for Most Laps Lead

RACING ETIQUETTE:

You must have SORRY and THANKS mapped for easy access. (And hopefully you will use Thanks more than Sorry).

Headlights will be allowed when lapping back markers, and for signaling that you are alongside a car (if you so wish).

For Back markers: If you are being lapped hold a steady line on the first available straight and try and signal which side to pass (preferably the racing line).

For Race leaders: Don't lap back markers through corners. It is not acceptable to expect a slower driver to move out of the way immediately. wait for the next straight.

If you come up on a back marker in a bad spot, that's just bad luck.

Normal online etiquette will apply. I’m sure you have all read various rules that apply to online racing, please adhere to them. Here is a link to a good set:

http://www.gamers-crib.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1521&postcount=1 (http://www.gamers-crib.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1521&postcount=1)

In my opinion, the biggest no no is running fair and square into the back of someone. If you are trailing someone, you MUST be ready to brake before them. If you are going to out-brake someone into a corner, you MUST NOT be directly behind them.

When in close proximity to another driver, if you can’t see them in front or behind, assume they are by your side and give them racing room.

I think rubbing paint is included in having fun but take care please.

If you do knock someone off, you must wait until they regain the track in front of you then you can continue.

This includes when you are lapping someone. Consider it as immediate punishment for breaking the no punting rule.

PENALTIES:

I will need two volunteers to act as stewards to oversee any racing incidents. I can’t do this as I’m too soft and don’t like giving out penalties. Volunteer via PM to me and you will remain anonymous to the rest of the league, you will only be known to me and the other steward.

If you feel you have been unfairly taken out by a wild passing maneuver or bad driving, send an email to me with a brief description of the incident, and the point in the replay where it occurs. I will then forward the details onto the stewards.

I will look at all incidents and give my thoughts to the stewards but they will make the final decision.

Point’s deductions for misdemeanors will be a must, and even a single race or season ban for multiple indiscretions depending on the circumstances.

This league will be aimed at having fun, not winning at all cost. If you go before the stewards four times (and this will include multiple incidents in a race), then it’s time to sit the season out.

I would advise you to have your replays Date Stamped.

All decisions will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

Let’s make this a League of Gentleman and have some fun.

I would like your thoughts on a NO PASSING rule at the start between the first braking markers and the first turn.

E:G you can pass on the green light, but once the field reaches the first braking marker\zone, then you must treat it like a yellow flag zone, and adjust your speed and no overtaking until after the first turn, then you must wait until there is a clear stretch of track. I think discretion will be the better part of valour here. If you feel you have been unfairly passed into the NO PASSING ZONE report it to me as a racing incident.

Now remembering I am not a podium winner here (or any where sim racing for that matter hehe), but I have had the odd occasion when I can have the heady feeling of moving up some places (albeit short lived),
and normally it is only on the start and heading into turn one when I have brute and a good start or threading through the damage. This is tempered with really easy into turn one, but I don't always see the first brake point and I thinks I is gonna get caught here. If it isn't dangerous, ie clear space is there a problem?

I've never been involved in a turn one incident, everyone usually has their head screwed on right and keeps position, or gives enough room if there are passes. No-one wants to be put off on the first turn.
Thats my experience anyway...

just an idea...i know it's not all about winning and podium etc. but how about everybody is allowed to delete the worst result of the season.
i say that because fabbi had problems with his internet connection and missed the race...he was second overall and after finishing very high in all other races it kindof sucks when something like that happens....
any thoughts?
cheers marty

personally I won't lose any sleep over the points so we could do anything we like and it wouldn't worry me. :-P
Didn't they do something like that in F1 years ago? Might be a good idea as it might give the points system a kind of retro feel, fitting for our races. :-)
'dose are my thoughts on the matter...

Thanks for the thought Marty. While I'm disappointed, I say keep this debate for next season so that we don't disrupt the season too much.
Let's consider it a mechanical failure in the pits;-).
Cheers

Just posting here so this thread pops up as unread for everyone.
Based on some of the posting recently it sounds like a quick reminder of the league's rules is a good idea, and in particular the 'Racing Ettiquette' section above. :-)

In particular the link to Whoopster's post is excellent, and should be compulsory reading for all racers.

We got a good thing going with this league, lets keep it going good!

Hey Guys!
So good to see you are all revving the guts out of the old cars still. Nice to see some familiar names too. Hope you are all well and enjoying yourselves racing with friends.

I'm mainly in iRacing and don't get back to NoGrip often.

Just wanted to say hi and wish you all the best.

Hi John. Good of you to pop in. A few of the boys, especially Kritter are doing the iRacing thing too.

I've finally got a decent internet connection now, and just need to set up a home network so I can fumble about on track, online.
