View Full Version : Any PC users get LE cars?
Feel kinda stupid here. I ordered through Amazon and didn't get an online pass code to get the 3 LE cars. Did I just miss that it's only a perk for Xbox and PS people? I could have sworn EA never spelled that out. :?:

You brought the Limited Edition right? You didn't really say if you did..
If not then No.. You don't get 3 LE cars.

You might have to register your game on EA. So the cars activate ingame.
Well, I'm closer to figuring it out. I realized today I had an EA account from years ago and that's why I couldn't use my email to setup a new EA account. It kept saying account already exists (duh). So I ended up using a different email to sign into autolog.
I've added shift2 to "my games" on ea.com, but I don't see anything that looks like a way to register it to activate the cars?

This is what ive been reading..
You have to manually redeem your codes in order to get the content. To redeem your codes follow the steps below:
- Boot up SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED
- Press Start when prompted
- Login into EA Nation when prompted
- If you do not yet have a EA Nation account, select 'Create New Account' and follow the on-screen instructions
- Once you're logged into EA Nation you'll be advanced Main Menu screen, in order to access the full menu you will have to complete the first two Career races. Therefore, select 'Career'
- Play through the first two races
- Buy your first car
- At this point you'll be advanced back to the Main Menu with all menu options available
- Highlight 'Extras'
- Select 'Redeem Codes'
- Enter your Online Pass code which you will find on an insert in the game case (the insert is titled "ACTIVATE YOUR ONLINE PASS")
- Once the code is entered select 'DONE' / 'CONTINUE'
- At this point your code will be authenticated and you will have to download the SHIFT 2 Unleashed Limited Edition Online Pass
- Once the Online Pass is downloaded & installed (installation is required on PlayStation 3) you will receive the exclusive limited edition content

Yeah, that's what I tried to follow. I could do everything up until entering the Online Pass Code. I tried using the game key on the back of the manual, but the game said that had already been used. There was no insert title activate your online pass.

Hmm not too sure then sorry. :/
No worries. Sent an email off to EA. I realized a few minutes ago I had an account from years ago. Don't know if that's the problem or not. Oh well. Hopefully it can be resolved soon.

I still don't have the Limited Edition cars... sigh... PC version bought from Amazon... I followed all the instructions on the EA forum....
Well, I guess I'm not the only one. EA forums have a bunch of people in the same boat, too. It's weird. I got the 10K bonus to start, but the 3 cars never showed up.

Do you mean the Nissan S15 and the Alfa Romeo? I got my games delivered and installed today and when i open the game up, these car just sit there.

I just checked again and I don't have the S15, Alfa Romeo, nor the LP640. You know, now that I think about it, I remember when I finished installing the game, I launched the game for the first time, messed with the video settings, exited the game to restart it, and I saw my Windows Firewall alerting that NFS tried to connect to the internet. I unblocked it, but I wonder if that one attempt it did block was the game attempting to unlock my bonus content. Perhaps I should reinstall the game and see what happens...
@ Achilles97- That happened to me too. And I did reinstall the game and didn't get the firewall alert the second time. I dunno, I'm starting to think I'll have to live without them.

The firewall prompt won't affect it. I got that too and allowed the game and got the LE cars. Didn't need to do anything except log in to Autolog. Is there a way to log out of autolog in the game? Maybe try a log out/back in. Also, try actually going into Autolog on the Shift 2 site and see if you can pull up anything, that might register it...
I've installed the game few days back, but needed to wait for it till 31.03.2011 (that time the serial would be active). After that I"ve had all LE packege.
Tried logging out/back in to autolog in the game and that didn't work. Just tried signing on to autolog on EA's site, but it's giving me the "we've temporarily lost connection to the servers. Try again later," message. I'm going to try editing the reputation_unlockables.xml that zainraza was able to edit and see if I can unlock them that way.

Hmm, I'm getting that error too, what's going on with the PC Autolog? Works for my friends on PS3.
Is anyone else affected? Is it only in Aus?

Same for me no pass code and I bought off Amazon... and the add said I would receive the 3 cars for PC. Now, that being said, because I'm a gluten for punishment, I also bought the XBOX version and received the pass codes and they worked right off.
It only gives you in game cars so all you save is virtual cash... a rip if you ask me!

After completing two events and signing into Autolog, the cars were for sale for $0 so I could buy them for nothing.

I reinstalled the game and I realized that the first time I installed it I did not install the EA download manager. I installed the download manager on my second game install. I launched the download manager and just took a look around. I launched Shift2 from the download manager and the cars were awarded when I entered the game.
I hope that helps those who are having issues.
Yep, I also got the freebie content (3 cars and something else, can't recall) without doing anything they suggested (redeem codes on some phantom insert that was not included, lol). I think it happend after I went back and actually created a profile name to log in with (initially just jumped right into the game as "player1"). After a couple of career races being logged in, the "congrats, blah blah has been unlocked" popped up. Glad I read somewhere here to look closely in the car lot at the prices however to simply "buy/add" the $0 vehicles.

Yes, I got my LP640 for $0 once it was available in the Car Lot (maybe I had to run a couple of career races first, don't remember how they got there). I did NOT install EA's download manager during game install.

Thanks, Achilles97! I followed what you did and it worked. You'd think EA would point that out to PC players for all the people that couldn't unlock the cars. What a headache. Gawd. :laugh:
