View Full Version : Speed Sensetivity ?
Should this be kept at 0% as a way to turn off
or should it be at 50% to be linear steering like the other settings
for the wheel, brake etc
if 50 is meant to be linear (same as a normal car)
then setting it to 0 or 100 would drastically alter the handling and ffb at speed
any opinions

If you feel things are a bit too hectic and car just wobbles around all over the track I'd increase it a bit. Maybe 20, 30 or 40. You just need to test it out. I've been playing around for hours and if for a second I think I've nailed it, I pick up another car (generally more powerful one) and the swaying, wobbly feeling is back.
Edit : I have mine at 40.
afaik this should be set at 50 for best results
So Speed Sensitive Steering means something different than in GTL/GTR2?

@Siggs
so do you reckon that 50% in for linearity
so that angle of steering remains constant to wheel input
no matter the speed.
Note: this doesn't mean the car would actually follow the wheels(understeer etc) only that they match your input be it at 10 mph or 150 mph
Its what im thinking myself,
as it wouldn't make sense for that sensitivity slider to mean some different than all the rest of them.
Pity that the devs didnt put in some text confirming that 50 is linearity or not
same goes for profiler settings per wheel as then everyone would start on the same base line for ffb.
The other thing im noticing is that the overall strength isnt reducing the damping greatly but is making going over kerbs and over stuff that makes a huge racket in the g27 far better(far tighter vibration)
50% strength in game is doing me.
@redi
It could be kinda the same but different,
here i think is allowing you to set the sensitivity once you go over a certain speed
or keep it linear at all speeds by setting it to 50%
where as in gtl gtr2 you were given more an option to turn on or off speed sensitivity
as everyone turns it off it would be the same as setting it to 50% in this game as that is effectively off

Good question. 100 means 100% linearity, or 100 means that steering is non linear? BTW i already set it to 0.

Nearly positive that 50% is linear, so that you can adjust up or down the sensitivity.
I rem when Grid came out there was discussion about it and a forum admin made a post about it

"iii) Linearity
This changes how easy it is to hold the car in a straight line and to maintain drifts. Increase this if you are finding it too difficult. Decrease this if you feel the steering is too sloppy. Positive numbers mean that the steering is less sensitive around the center point whilst still giving fine control when cornering. Negative numbers mean that the steering is more sensitive around the center point than it is when cornering."
they didnt use a 0-100%
think it was like -5 to +5 and the default was 0
which would suggest that 50% is the linear setting
in this game
but i could be wrong
