View Full Version : Can't save steering lock settings (PC)?

I'm having a strange problem which I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered

I'm using a custom wheel setting (non-ffb) in SHIFT2...

Most of adjustable settings seem to work as they should (steering sensitivity, deadzone etc) however when trying to play with the 'steering lock' setting seem I getting all sorts of weirdness. 90% of the time, If I change the steering lock (say from 100 to 50%) and save these settings, when I enter a race session the steering lock with will automatically reset itself to 100%. Yet on one occasion I set the steering lock to 5% and the entered the race session - only this time I truly had 5% lock (and the wheel obviously had 5% lock as it swaying back in forth with every tiny movement.) Problem was, going back to the control screen it was now defaulting to 5%...and no matter how many times I changed the steering lock settings in the 'adjust control' menu (saving always) it would always default back to the undrivable 5% when entering the race session. I finally has to totally reset my controls completely to fix this...

Just curious if anyone encountered this strange behavior when trying to adjust the steering lock settings?...Changes to this setting either seem to have no effect, or get 'stuck' on a certain value.

It's an annoying bug that resets the steering lock every time you enter the controller options.

Same here, I have a DFGT. The settings seem to change randomly as well. I had my wheel dead-zone set to 0, lock 900 and once into the game, it had a huge dead-zone and the lock went back to 300. When I go back to the settings. it says the dead zone is now 20 degrees and lock set to 300. Its driving me up a wall.. :(

I'm quite fed up with it. As have spent nearly 2 hours going back and forth. I simply gonna return the damn game.. :(

Same here... All settings stick, but the locks always revert to 360.

(First post, hello everybody :-D )

I'll check what it's doing on my PC this afternoon.

Hi Mavrikk and welcome :)

Did you press Shift button to save your settings?

@Fredsas
Make a new Game Profiles for your race games in the Logitech Profiler and launch your games from there. I was having the same issue with my DFGT when playing GTLegends and GTR2, and since i created Individual profiles and launch them from there i don't have the problem anymore.
I hope this helps.

Yep, Logitech Profiler Saves :)

I noticed my speed sensitivity settings shot up to 60% once. But besides that it saves my settings fine. Make sure you're actually pressing Shift or clicking the save button...

My steering death zone has a life of its own too - set 1, it saved as 3 - set 2 it saved as zero... Now i managed somehow to keep 1 :whip:.

Probably some... input lag lol

That's really annoying! I had to reinstall the game and since then it doesn't save my steering lock... I set it to 900, save settings, I go to race and it's 360 :/

Anyone found a solution?

I think you have to do both

Set rotation (user choice along with any other stuff you want to adjust)
Press Shift
Press Enter

Game should then put you in the main menu straight after you hit enter.

The key to being able to change and save steering lock reliably is to use the the arrow keys rather than the mouse to adjust the values - then save via shift enter.

That should do the trick...

I can confirm - it works. I remember now I did set it with arrow keys at first time, but I used mouse after I reinstalled the game.
Thanks grandsprix!

really weird. Just tried using shift and enter and changing the settings that way. Now the game won't load. Probably just a coincidence. But it worked. The settings saved and won't go passed my Logitech profiler settings so it's working that way. But now won't enter a career or quick match. It crashes at loading screen. Before I did this I was playing and I have max settings for graphics.
