This is my latest G25 profile in case anyone wants to try it.
http://rapidshare.com/files/455945890/vehicleset_pc_logitech_g25_separatepedals.zip
It won't turn Shift2 FFB into iRacing's BUT:
-it will get rid of the overdamping
-it goes 1:1 with the steering in the telemetry screen
-it goes quite close to the in-cockpit animation
-it does NOT modify your tires thus it does NOT make the AI go nuts
What it does:
It zeroes the overdone friction and damping effects in the FFB.
It changes to circular deadzone (made a big change for me!)
What is needed:
540° to be set in Logitech panel (Also advised is to set 107% 0% 0% settings for force, damping and centering. "Allow games to change settings" should be disabled!)
540° to be set in-game steering lock (270° recommended for drift)
How to install:
-Backup you original vehicleset_pc_logitech_g25_separatepedals.xml in ..\SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED\ControllerDefaults\PC
-Copy the attached file in the same directory.
-Launch the Game
-Navigate to Options => Game => Controls
-Make sure you delete your current settings by loading a different profile first, such as the 360 controller. Overwrite when prompted. Then load up this profile by selecting G25 Separated Pedals. Save changes with the Right Shift key!
-Again inside the Controls menu, set steering lock to 540° (and 270° for drifting); choose your preferred buttons and axis combo (i.e. brake on the clutch pedal) and finally set the FFB force slider at your desired maximum (I go with 90%). Again, save changes with the Right Shift key!
-Done!
Recomendations:
Setting up your cars is imperative to getting them to "feel" right. Default set ups are way too soft, have the brake bias set too far back and have poor steering lock.
As an example, here's my "all around" 911 GT3 RSR set up, all values in metrical or in "clicks":
Tire pressure: 28f / 29r
Brake bias: 43 (57% front)
Brake pressure: 20 (max)
Steering lock: 24°
(everything else from the alignment menu at default)
Front height: 2.00
Rear height: 3.00
Differential lock on power: 12
Differential lock on coast: 7
No preload
Aero at max both front and rear
Springs maxed out at 6.00 both front and rear
Front antiroll bar 7.00
Rear antiroll bar 5.00
Bump stops front 2.00
Bump stops rear 3.00
Fast bump 10.00 (f&r)
Slow bump 11.00 (f&r)
Fast rebound 15.00 (f&r)
Slow rebound 16.00 (f&r)
Gearbox on defaults
Happy Shifting!
