Catalunya Retro event question.

I was wondering if anyone knows how to improve my lap time in this event. I have a couple of friends on autolog that are almost 2 seconds faster than me and I find that almost impossible as you're only driving a slow 50 performance index car.

I was thinking it might be they are using that juls mod? I'm playing vanilla and seem to be doing alright at topping my friends list on several tracks but this 2 second discrepancy has me wondering whats going on. Does the mod really help that much?

Well in case anyone was curious, I installed the mod and within 1 attempt I was only .15 seconds back rather than over 2 seconds. So yes the mod makes that much of a difference. If you played the race I'm talking about (retro european catalunya) you will know that its almost impossible to have a 2 second spread in the 1 minute race.

I'm a little disappointed that I need to use the mod to stay competitive but autolog records are one of the main features I enjoy. It doesn't seem to affect the game negatively but I don't like using mods to give an unfair advantage over those that have no idea or refuse to install the mod.

CHEATERRRRR :P . S2U sucks without mods, just send mod to your friends from autolog to be fair. You won't get better by cheating ;) .

I have mixed feelings on the term cheater. I DO feel like one but I'm almost positive several of my competitors are using the same mod. I refuse to give up my number 1 spot on several races and if it means I need to exploit a reasonable mod, I will!

Seriously though try to run that race with vanilla S2u physics and see if you can pull a 57 second lap. Not possible even with assists on/off manual or automatic.
