OK, I use HD5850 with 4GB DDR3 RAM and AMD Phenom II X4 955. I use MOMO Racing wheel. I'm kinda in a confusion about what to do and what mods to download, this or that, this or that. Please help me to get or do to make S2U great. Handling-wise, graphics-wise and all these. Thanks. :-)

In short:

- get ATI Tray Tools or RadeonPro, use either to set the Flip Queue Size to 1 to reduce any possible lag caused by it being 3 by default

- Be extra critical on the in-game video settings, try to get your frame rates as high as possible

- Get your wheel settings how you like them, personally I found that with my Porsche GT2 wheel I needed little damper or spring to get decent FFB

- Most important: get those car set-ups out of sludge mode and into race mode by making them much stiffer than default. See the car set-up thread for more info and tips.

Thanks. What about the minimod and PTMu? Should I get both of them?

imho dont modify with either of those... I have tried them both and really just make some tuning adjustments for the car you are using. Starting point is to stiffen the suspension and adjust gearing. You will quickly get to grips with driving the cars how the game creators intended :)

Enjoy the game stock for a bit before you go for mods. That's a personal thing.
The DLL from jul's minimod might help with input lag if you suffer from it. If you just use the DLL it will only kill input lag without affecting physics.

I'm enjoying the game without any mods. I'm only considering removing the exploding ducks on my windshield because I think it's a bit ovedone :)

Agreed about the minimod. Once I got a acceptable frame rate I removed them and I think it feels better (G25 wheel)

NO mods. Be a man and tune your car!

(jk, mods are not a sin; but try tuning first--it actually works!)

I have about same hardware as you (I run on WinXP). So:
1) disable in-game AA and also disable AA from ATi driver tools.
2) Force 8x or 16x AF from driver tools (game AF does nothing)
3) Set shadows to medium, not much better at High anyway
